Here is where we can put the changes to the episodes after they are cancelled in the episode survival game. So the thread doesn't get too long.
Cancelled episodes:
1. Leap of Faith
This is very fortuitous, as I just watched this one last night! I would change Jim beating up scumbag Doyle. That is just wrong, and I'm sure now his confession won't stand up in court anyway. I would have it where the threat of the neighbor child testifying, and Jim being threatening without actually doing anything, is enough to make him confess to the one crime. Then, when it goes to trial, the publicity causes many other children to be willing to testify against him and the guy goes to jail for life. Also, I'd have Hank smell something interesting in the garbage, leading Karen to discover the claim check in the apartment, a bit of a star role for Hank. Finally, I would have drawn out the ethical debate of the cops around the claim ticket a bit more, that was the best part of this episode for me and one of the most interesting scenes in the entire series. (inuvik)
2)Rub a Tub Tub
Marybeth and Eric made this one of my least favorite episodes "I get it, it just cops looking out for cops." yuck Marybeth. And I always feel a little uncomfortable watching Marty and Jim in the locker room with the bell conversation. Much too mean, even for Marty. And talk about close talkers. Back up. I do however really like the end of this episode with Jim trying to regain Christies trust. I love the Mulligan analogy, and love when she says "It was worth it, You're worth it. " and Jim saying "I'm not that person anymore." Nice. And the session with Galloway, chocolate chip cookies, also nice.
So why did I cancel it? I'm confused. But too late, I already did. (rducasey)
3. Fancy Footwork
Since they insisted in giving us an inordinately loooong dance I propose that instead of the elaborate dancing dream sequence, Christie remembers in a series of flashbacks what she and Jim have gone through in the past year and how far he and they have come, interspersed with shots of them dancing. (hoosier)
4. Four Feet Under
Unbeknownst to the police, Lloyd Crider has returned home from prison a broken man, raped and terrorized while there by Leonard Mattus. Allison, wo haa become used to having things her own way, rules the roost, baking cookies and making tea while Lloyd does the housework and takes care of the kids. One night, Ben fails to put up his toys and afraid he will be beaten up by his wife, Lloyd overreacts and accidently kills Ben while punishing him. Jake is torn in telling the truth because who is the real villian, his father for killing his brother or his mother for terrorizing his father? (hoosier)
5.Past Imperfect
Letitia goes to visit Ty to try and work out their custody of Hunter by appealing to his better nature. He clueless co-worker, trying to help her out, drives to Ty's apartment. As Letitia and Ty walk out, she sees her co-worker with a gun and throws herself in front of Ty, saving his life. Crazed with grief, the co-worker, shoots Ty and then turns the gun on herself. Mike, Letitia's brother is appointed Hunter's guardian. (hoosier)
