So I'm catching up on this week's taped episodes of The Daily Show and last Monday night the guest was Paul Rudd. Well, he mentions to Jon Stewart that he just finished filming a movie three days before. A movie with Ron Eldard. A comedy about clam diggers in the 70s. I must say that hearing him talk about it gave me quite a thrill. And I dig the thought of Ron Eldard hanging out with Paul Rudd. They must have had so much fun making that movie. My two favorite websites - aside from this one of course - are Defamer and Gawker. Defamer covers celebrity gossip on the west coast, and Gawker on the east. There has been at least one posting on Gawker discussing a Rudd/Eldard siting in NYC. They were at the Democratic concert together back before the election. BTW, have you seen Bash? They are both in it and both amazing. It is odd to hear they finished filiming, from the news reports I thought they hadn't even started.

Since "Diggers" is a multi-generational movie (who's in which generation, I wonder?) maybe Paul Rudd had finished shooting his stuff and they're still filming with other actors? Aaah . . . who knows? Looks like my road trip to the Hamptons is off. Not that I wouldn't just die of embarrassment hanging around some movie set like a groupie!

They happened to repeat the daily Show with Paul Rudd last night at 8. He's pretty funny. And it was neat what he had to say about Diggers. And that they may change the name by the time it comes out.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that Paul Rudd was joking about changing the name. He said that, when people asked what they were shooting and they called back, "Diggers!" it sounded like they were saying something else. Something decidely on the wrong side of Politically Correct. It was in that context that he said they may be changing the name before the release. I'm pretty sure that won't happen, but you never know. Paul Rudd is hilarious! That's why I love the idea that he knows Ron Eldard.

There was an interview in this morning's LA Times with Lauren Ambrose. She said she just finished filming Diggers.
