Kim Chenowith - for thinking that a stolen car could be recovered in less than three hours. Possible but not likely. It's happened to me twice and both times took a lot longer than three hours.

Finally released from his second round of incarceration, Mark stopped to breathe in the sweet smell of freedom. Another twelve months locked up in the slammer had mellowed him; he was a changed man. It was a beautiful Saturday morning, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, he relished the feel of the warm spring breeze on his face. Suddenly overcome with a yearning to be as one with the natural elements, he hopped his Harley Davidson and headed out of the City for a chance to stop and smell the roses, commune with nature, find his softer and gentler side. Pulling the Harley in to the shadows of a sprawling oak tree, in the middle of a quiet meadow, he shut off the engine and tiptoed to a sunny patch in the grass. Spreading a blanket out in the sun, trying to maximize the exposure on his tender, pale skin, he was just getting comfortable when his quiet moment was interrupted by an incredible ruckus! The ground shook, the trees swayed.... "But I'm not in Northern California," he thought. "This can't be an earthquake!" Could it be, then that he'd just ventured too far out of the City? Within minutes, he found himself enveloped in a stampeding herd of cattle, the whistles and calls of the cattle drivers bringing them home for the spring round-up. Quickly trampled under pounding hooves, he was bloodied, dazed and battered, drawing in what were surely his last breaths. As if not punishment enough, though, he also found himself lassoed and lined up by the fire with the young uns, waiting for whatever would come next. Quite the bountiful day for those cattle driving cowboys! They got themselves some fine new calves, a little something extra - and a HOG to boot!!
As for Mark Watt, well, I guess he was branded!

Wow, I curled up on the couch to consider the demise of Mark Watt, and to catch some of that horrid CSI Miami, and promptly fell asleep before it even began. After dreaming of an appropriate demise for Mr. Watt, I stumbled over to the computer and logged on, and what a surprise to see that Lori Longlashes, serial killer extraordinaire had taken him out already. Great demise, Lori, and a very fitting end to Mr. Watt.

Dr. Taylor- "The dog stays outside", how about "Pease have your dog remain outside, Mr. Detective, thank you." You tell her. Always thought she was kind of rude about that. Dr. Taylor - for coming across as cold and unfeeling. (At least for me). Maybe that's the way you have to be, but couldn't she have shown just a little compassion over Ben Crider? Annie Jansen + for sticking with Terry through what must have been a hard year. But I wonder how she took it when they told her it was a crime scene and the car would have to be impounded. (On second thought, after seeing how they let Mrs. Tuxhorn bring a cleaning crew in on the very day her " husband" was murdered, maybe they did not even impound the car.) |

I was three miles from the epicenter of the 1994 Northridge earthquake. Lot's of quakes in SoCal! (Sorry. Just felt compelled to stick that in because California is the one state I am extremely familiar with, so it makes me annoying.  ) Congratulations on your big kill! That must have been fun. |

Twas fun - although it took several edits before I got the "branding" exactly the way I wanted. And, yes, having resided there myself for three years, breathing in the beautiful brown air of the San Fernando Valley, I have experienced the shaky ground of Southern California first hand. If I remember correctly, I bravely weathered 6 earthquakes, the largest of which, thankfully, was only a 5.9 centered somewhere between downtown Pasadena and the Rose Bowl, a mere 3 miles away!  When I pictured Mark Watt communing with nature, (assuming, of course, that he'd changed enough to do just that!) I pictured him with real trees, not those funky looking things they grow in the greater LA area - you know 75 feet of trunk pointing to the heavens and 7 or 8 spiny things projecting from the top - hence the reference to Northern California, where they grow em big and full and lush!  |
