Here we go, poll number two! Some of the lines of dialogue were too long to enter the whole line, but we ALL know them, right? Enjoy, and please vote!!!

I voted, but I found it hard to narrow it down to just one. But you only get one vote so it's absolutely done for me.

I voted for "We both know what happened that day." That moment is so pivotal.

Ooh, this one is a real toughie, isn't it? (Especially since as far as I'm concerned, every line in The Pilot is dead perfect.) But I went for "There's just one thing I want to know . . . what do you look like?" I love that all throughout the episode we see Jim trying to hold it together, trying to be tough and make the case that he has a right to be back on The Job or at least try, dealing with the Terry invasion, the blow-up with Christie, learning his way around the squad room, the frightening moment when he pulls his gun in Lyman's kitchen and the fierceness of the interrogation scene . . . But this moment was when I truly fell head over heels in love with the character of Jim Dunbar. He knows he's still on shaky ground with Karen but he allows himself to open up to her, to be vulnerable, and we see a glimpse of genuine sweetness for the first time. Balls of steel, heart of mush. Sigh.

I weighed them all and came down to #1. If Jim hadn't run out of bullets, if Terry hadn't panicked, if Jim hadn't left cover and stepped up... The first few seconds of the show are pivotal--the life-changing and life-redefining moment of Jim Dunbar's life.

I voted for "We both know what happened that day . . . ," but this moment was a close second, for the same reasons stated by maggie. When I finished watching the Pilot for the first time (I was taping it, fortunately), I immediately rewound the tape and watched this scene again. But then there's also: I weighed them all and came down to #1. If Jim hadn't run out of bullets, if Terry hadn't panicked, if Jim hadn't left cover and stepped up... The first few seconds of the show are pivotal--the life-changing and life-redefining moment of Jim Dunbar's life. Really, too close to chose. But who's complaining about having too many great lines to choose from? Not me!

I voted for "You have to do this now? You have to do this today?" because Christie is rather selfish at times and makes Jim think he has no other person to understand what he is going through. I am like the others, however in realizing that there is not just one line of dialogue that is better than the ohters because they are all brilliantly written and acted.

I voted for "You have to do this now? You have to do this today?" because it is the last drop in Jim's glass to that day (so to speak, it is a hungarian phrase for more than enough).
