Do I look like someone who's into country music? Darling, this is Vera, cherie. Think Broadway. Think . . . oh, I don't know . . . maybe Gershwin? LOVE IS SWEEPING THE COUNTRY!

Love is sweeping the country, Waves are hugging the shore -- All the sexes from Maine to Texas Have never known such love before. See them billing and cooing Like the birdies above Each girl and boy alike Sharing joy alike Hopes that passion'll Soon be national. Love is sweepinbg the country -- There never was so much love. ;D
I'll spare you the verse, Cherie.
Your turn!

Oh, darlin'. If it was written after 1940 and it's not by The Beatles, I am so screwed. You want the lyrics to any song in one of the nine Astaire/Rogers RKO films? Any Judy Garland or Gene Kelly musical that came out of the Arthur Freed unit at MGM? The Warner Brothers Busby Berkeley musicals? I'm your gal. But new stuff? Sigh.

Good Morning America, how are you? Wahoo! That's it, the actual title is City of New Orleans, but that is the right song. Karma to you for knowing Arlo Guthrie's music. Your turn Inuvik...

Thanks for the karma! It's a good song, but I didn't know the artist actually. If you are confused, check with the sun Carry a compass, to help you along Your feet are going to be on the ground Your head is there to move you around

Apparently YOU, Mouse, are the one who deserves Karma for knowing who Arlo Guthrie is! Inuvik admits she knows only the song. Revealing my age here, but I was at the Newport Folk Festival when Arlo performed Alice's Restaurant for one of the first times - didn't even have the words memorized. They were written on a piece of paper taped to the side of his guitar! Mary...were you there that night?

I was Kathy and little did we know we were both in the audiance, and would connect many years down the road. Arlo Guthrie, a crowd pleaser, and Dylan went electric and got booed by the crowd.

I don't want to hang the game over the weekend, so someone else can start another one. I'm not sure how much I'll be on this weekend. I can check it after the weekend, or maybe sooner, not sure, and give the answer if no one has got it yet.
