Oh, it looks like our good friend Nick is up to no good after all! He's working with the mob (should his Italian background have tipped us off or is that too obvious?) and seems to owe a favor to Abruzzi, who wants to use Veronica as leverage to force Michael to give up the location of the guy who put him in prison.
Great episode last night! Every storyline, from Linc's "accident" and being rescued/kidnapped by his father to Michael getting his ex-wife to steal Sara's keys to Sara getting suspicious (after allowing Michael to kiss her, of course) to Michael taking pity on Tweener, only to have their secret spilled to Bellick (!!!) was all great. Very compelling television! I was shocked at the end to see Bellick breaking through that floor and finding out about the plot. I seriously hope that that was somehow part of Michael's plan as well, but I don't see how that could be possible. We have been assured that they will escape this season, but right now the prospects for Team Escapa look dim.

I am also mystified as to the little "homey" going to Bellick. I also don't see how it could be part of Michael's plan.
But my colleague does. She thinks that the floor bit was probably the only part that was true. She figures Michael must know he's a snitch, and has fed him a story to take to Bellick so they'll be looking in the wrong place, or the wrong day, or something.
But I think Michael's too nice of a guy for that. We know he hates to see guys being raped, and that he felt guilty when the other guy committed suicide.
But he's incredibly smart--look at the bit with Haywire! (although I did forsee that he was faking it in the cell, I didn't think of why he was doing it). Maybe he does know he's a snitch.
Plus, my fave show Everwood is on the bubble--WAAH!

OK, I am now officially confused. Nick is working for Abruzzi, either because he's on Abruzzi's payroll or because Abruzzi has something on him (I don't know which at this point). But I thought the guy who spoke to Nick at the cell phone store last week and told him to keep an eye on Veronica looked like Daddy Burrows. Does this mean the mob is somehow involved in the larger conspiracy? Or is the mob in competition with "The Company" and looking out for its own interests? Or is this just Abruzzi's personal vendetta against the protected witness, Fibonacchi? Back to the escape plan. Abruzzi's still part of the escape plot, right? And he's still providing the plane, right? I wonder if he would jeopardize his own escape to further his own vendetta. Maybe whatever he has planned is supposed to happen after the escape. I am totally not buying Abruzzi's "born again" act. When he was barking orders to Nick over the phone, he definitely didn't sound like a guy who'd gotten religion. Who is the "little bitch" Abruzzi referred to in his phone conversation with Nick? Veronica or the airplane? Totally changing the subject, good on you, Dr. Sara, for figuring out what Michael was doing and not cutting him any slack. I know he's supposed to be the hero, but he can be a single-minded, manipulative s.o.b. Kind of like another flawed hero who's been discussed from time to time on the board. I guess it's not that surprising, considering that some of the people who helped create Blind Justice are involved in Prison Break.

Next week's TV Guide has some information about Nick's situation, along with some quotes and a rather nice picture of Frank Grillo. MILD SPOILERS FOLLOW.
According to the article, Nick's father got out of prison because Nick made a deal with Abruzzi to keep tabs on Veronica.
"Nick's resolve to keep up this deal will be tested over the season's final episodes when, after realizing he has become too close to Veronica, he doesn't want to betray her.
"'He tries to redeem himself,' Grillo says, 'But it may be too late.'"

According to the article, Nick's father got out of prison because Nick made a deal with Abruzzi to keep tabs on Veronica. This makes sense. Also, I doubt Abruzzi will do anything with Veronica until AFTER they escape. That's his way to get to his protected witness. That's all I can figure. They sure know how to keep it interesting. I'm still riveted by this show.

I think this show is getting too stressful for me. But do I stop watching? Heavens no! Last night I was on the edge of my seat, wringing my hands and silently pleading with the universe to allow Michael and team to escape without a hitch. Well, it wasn't exactly hitchless, but they do appear to be out! Poor D-Cups! That nasty misleading commercial made it look like Michael broke the line and was about to be caught. How great was it that no one looked up and D-Cups ended up having to take the fall? Whoa. That was much more literal than I meant it to be. But I'm uneasy about Westmoreland telling Michael about the money in the hearing of some real untrustworthy folks. Haywire and T-Bag? I think C-Note deserves his share by now. He's turned out to be a pretty good guy. Interesting that Abruzzi doesn't know about the money. Hope it stays that way. I have a feeling that money will be very important next season--and it will be what keeps this gang together as they race for their prize while alluding authorities and uncovering the government conspiracy. Very exciting!
I found this comment at TWoP and it cracked me up:

I haven't been able to watch this from quite some time but did see the majority of it last night. I was shocked when Frank Grillo's character was blown away after the man shot his father in the head. I was totally in the dark as to what was going on. Who was that guy anyway?

FYI -- Fox is showing Bush's speech tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern time, which means the start of Prison Break will be delayed until 8:20 p.m. Eastern, 7:20 p.m. Central. The show will air at its regular time in the Mountain and Pacific time zones.

I was so irritated when I heard about this. The last time Bush preempted prime time was last year during May sweeps and people were pretty mad at him then, too. Way to boost your approval ratings, Mr. President! He should know better than to get between his constituents and their season finales!
This throws everything off--and I already had a complicated taping schedule set up as it was. Now I have it so that, in order to catch the last twenty minutes of 24, I'll have to sacrifice the first 20 minutes of CSI:Miami. Actually, that's not such a sacrifice. I'll just miss out on a few laughs.
Prison Break looks very exciting tonight! It'll be worth waiting an extra twenty minutes to see.

Prison Break WAS worth the wait. Geez, a couple of those guys are really hard cases, aren't they. Don't axe Abruzzi for any favors!

Goodness, what a punny girl! Tweener in the horse trailer, Psycho on a bike, T-Bag needs a hand and the rest heading for the hills! The VP's "murdered" brother is found, the VP survives her thirtysomething years to become the Pres, and the doc is turning blue. It's going to be a long summer....

Heyyyy... I just found on the www.fox.com Prison Break page, that they have lengthy recaps of every episode. I missed one or two during the season, and even though I've seen the season finale now, you can catch up what you missed.

Abruzzi chopped his hand off right at the wrist and then he was lying there, staring at it, when the others ran off. If you notice, when he was running through the woods after that, trying to catch them, he was holding onto his hand. That was all very disturbing.

I saw him running and bloody, and away from Michael, so figured they'd done something. I didn't see him carrying the hand though.
