I know--and I'm sure that's what happened here.
I guess I had just assumed it was for real all along because it was never mentioned on the show and he was just this character who happened to have a disability so I couldn't understand why they would go to such pains to make such a peripheral character look like an amputee if he wasn't one in real life. Well...now that the arm does figure into the plot, I understand the point. I'm just really impressed that they had us going for so many weeks, getting used to this character and letting us think he and his disability weren't all that important to the plot.

For everyone who thought this show was slow or boring...well, not anymore! It's finally back and I was riveted the entire time. Now that the set-up is intact (and it did take a while to get there) things are happening right and left and it's incredibly good. Did anyone else catch last night's episode? Whoa! It's creepy and sad and gripping and oddly poignant all at once. ABC has made a lot of mistakes (as we all know) but I applaud them for allowing this one to play out for a while. It required a lot of patience on the part of the network and the viewers, but it just might pay off. I certainly hope so.

Yes, I did watch it and it was all of the above! I felt so sorry for the deputy and William Fitchner is spooky yet sincere at the same time.

Still watching, still have noooo idea where it's going or where the Sheriff's going to land in the overall scheme of things. Still entertained.

Looks like things are really heating up in Homestead! I wasn't entirely happy with the flashback as to how Tom was supposed to be "alienized", didn't do much other than have him submerged in water and then in the hospital where he met Muriel. Oh well. And who shot him? Orginally thought the deputy now tending to lean towards the mysterious partner of Henley. Maybe he wants to control the others. Oops, they are on another show

I was distracted during part of the ep, so didn't catch all of it, but I'm looking forward to finding out more. The whole empty room thing was a cool twist.

I was sleepy Wednesday night so I set "Invasion" to record so I could watch it yesterday. Imagine my distress when I realized I had accidentally taped an hour of QVC (although it did seem to be very good lotion) instead! So, basically, I missed the whole thing after the teaser. I think I have the gist of what happened, but if anyone would like to fill me in on any important plot twists I may need to know for the future, I'd be most grateful.

Three things stood out to me--
1. Henley's partner had been "alienized"(or become a hybrid whichever you prefer) and is a very potential threat--why I think now that he was the one who "shot the sheriff"
2. Henley told Russell that if a person is sick they are less likely to be attacked and taken over by one of the aliens
3. They think that Tom is somehow a balancing force for the alien hybrids of Homestead. After he was wounded things kind of went to h*** in a handbag. Nothing major but enough to scare Russell, Dave and Henley. Larkin is already to head for the hills with the kids in tow.
The empty room was a nice touch though I think that was probably where Tom kept the stash of weapone he floated out to the "uncharted key" last week. A big awww for the rose he so carefully kept from the first day he met Muriel!

Tack on a strong indication that Underlay may *not* be a bad guy. He needs something in the double-locked room. Wife: What's in the room? Underlay: Everything. Wife goes, comes back with the rose in a small box. Something about Underlay saying it is Hope. Awwww... moment. Intriguing, tho.

I just found out that ABC Family is going to be showing an "Invasion" marathon on April 15. A lot of people didn't get into the show because they didn't catch it from the beginning and this is the kind of show that needs to be watched from the beginning to make any sense. I think this is a good sign. Maybe ABC is hoping to increase its audience so they can renew it. If they can't, I at least hope we get a good ending in May!

ABC announced their fall schedule and Invasion is not coming back. Very sad. There had been talk about it being picked up by the new CW network, but that seems unlikely at this point.
Here's the weird thing. ABC renewed What About Brian? I watched it and thought it was decent--kind of guilty pleasurish--but it had terrible ratings and only aired five times in four weeks and THAT'S coming back? I really don't understand that network.

Oh well, at least we get the "Invasion" finale. That's more than ABC did last year for BJ (for most of us).
