Here's the weird thing. ABC renewed What About Brian? I watched it and thought it was decent--kind of guilty pleasurish--but it had terrible ratings and only aired five times in four weeks and THAT'S coming back? I really don't understand that network.

Bummer. Here's another example of a show that was outside the norm and the network cancels it

Talk about a shooting leaving you up in the air and since they cancelled the show we will never know about Larkin. Why did Tom take her to the water? Did he think she was too far gone for convention medicine? If she is taken over, which she undoubtedly will be, what will happen to her baby? If one creature takes over one person, that leaves the baby in the lurch! Can a hygrid have a human baby--that is if the said person was human when the baby was conceived?? Sheeshh! I hate it when a show leaves you hanging! Darn ABC

He took her to the water because there was no other way to save her at that point. And the baby - that's the cliffhanger question. What happens with a human/human fetus when the mother becomes a hybrid? And what about the hybrid/hybrid babies? The possibilities here are unbelievably fantastic - hell of a time to cancel the series.
