Has anyone else watched Saved on TNT? I tivo'd it and just saw it last night. I liked it. It is probably at least partially ripped of from Rescue Me (which I have never seen), but I will tune in again.

I'm addicted, plus I've just started watching "The Closer," so that makes for a very pleasant Monday night. Like the mood, like the characters, like the whole feel of the show. I hope they can keep it up!

I watched Saved for the first time this past Monday and was interested enough that I'll likely watch it again next week. I can't say that I was immediately pulled into it, as I was with Blind Justice (but it's not really fair to compare anything to Blind Justice) or even Rescue Me. It doesn't have the outrageous raunchiness of Rescue Me, which -- I freely confess -- is one of the things I like about that show. But the troubled father-son relationship is interesting, along with Wyatt's relationship with the girlfriend/not girlfriend (not sure what's going on there).
Two other things this episode had going for it: Wyatt's father channeling Dorothy Parker with "What fresh hell is this?" and beginning the episode with Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Bad Moon Rising" (and they played the whole song).

I've been watching this show for the last three weeks because of the recommendations here. I'm enjoying it, but wouldn't be devastated if I were to miss it. I really like what's-his-face who stars in it and I like the Lesbian Paramedic paired up with the righteous little Christian EMT. Very interesting dynamic going on there. Some of the dialogue is a little clunky at times, but then some of the other dialogue is fantastic so I guess it all evens out. I liked the bitchy girl who needs a new liver but I think that doctor--who is supposed to be the source of sexual tension?--is an extremely bland actress and I have no interest in most of her scenes.
Some of the story lines seem a bit tired. Gambling problem. People coming to get the money. Not living up to potential or parental expectations. Rogue employee who gets by on sheer talent and nerve. On the surface, it doesn't seem all that original, but when it all comes together, this cast makes it work. I'll keep watching. It's a good companion to "The Closer," but isn't quite in the same league.

This weeks episode was pretty good and the flashback scenes were enlightening but...all I could think of was that Alice has never had a different hairstyle. Her hair always seemed kind of boring and borderline unfashionable, but it never really bothered me until they showed her in a flashback that had supposedly happened years before with the exact same hair! That just seems lazy. Couldn't the show have done something to have made her look like a college student? A ponytail? Something to disguise the 'do? And I still maintain that that actress has no wattage whatsoever. She sucks the life out of all her scenes. I know she's supposed to be serious and maybe even moody, but she's just coming across as devoid of life and I don't buy for a minute that Wyatt would be pining for such a girl when he's such a high-wattage guy himself. There's absolutely no chemestry between them--or between her and anyone, for that matter.

I'm tending to agree with you on this Shmeep. In addition to the points you have made, I find myself straining to hear the dialog and even then I only seem to catch every third or fourth word. I'm finding that watching it is too much work.

I hadn't noticed that, but since I watch everything with captions, I get everything whether it's audible or not so I don't always realize something is hard to understand with ears alone.

Speaking of captions... How hard would it be for a show's creators to hire real typists to input the captions? If I am watching Dr. Phil with the boys around I usually mute it and read the captions. I find it very distracting that every couple of words there is is a misspelling!

There's absolutely no chemistry between them--or between her and anyone, for that matter. I liked that they gave us the backstory of Wyatt and Alice, but I agree, shmeep, what did he see in her in the first place? He seemed to be doing a lot of drinking at that time. Maybe that explains it. I find myself straining to hear the dialog and even then I only seem to catch every third or fourth word. I'm finding that watching it is too much work. I'm so glad you mentioned this. I thought it was just me.
