The partner on Pushing Daisies is Chi McBride late of Boston Public, House and The Nine.
I really liked Pushing Daisies. Its definitely a novel idea and I don't think you are supposed to take it seriously. What will the aunts be up to now that they have decided to leave the house? Will Charlie get her own place? How will she apply for new id? But just think how much he saves by resurrecting fruit that has gone bad!
Program Note-on CSI this evening, one of the crimes takes place in a "dining in the dark" restaurant. Thats probably as close as I will get to the real thing!

The number of trailers we're getting for The Tudors is amazing. I'm definitely going to give this one a go... even if I couldn't help noticing one 'English' accent slipping remarkably towards American at times. There is a Canadian actor masquerading as English -- Henry Czerny who plays the Duke of Norfolk. Season 1 has 10 episodes, and Season 2 is scheduled to start on Showtime in the U.S. in Spring 2008- I just saw a promo last night. Incidentally, have you guys had Season 3 of Dr Who yet? I was a little leery about that one at the beginning, but it turned into real Must See TV for me by the end. (Just like Seasons 1 and 2.) In fact, the Sci Fi channel is showing the last episode of Doctor Who Season 3 tonight (WAAAAH). It's been really good this season, but I do prefer Rose over Martha. And I guess Capt Jack will be in it. I really liked the episode "Blink" where the statues moved when you weren't looking at them. HBO just started a new miniseries this week it co-produced with the BBC: Five Days. It's five hourlong episodes about a woman who goes missing when she stops to buy flowers on the side of the road. Her two kids in the car then go missing when they leave the car. It's sooo riveting. HBO is offering Episode 1 as streaming video at www.hbo.com/films/fivedays/index.html , but you may have to live in the U.S. to be able to stream it.

My mom phoned me last night to tell me about it, so I recorded it. I can hardly wait! You know now that the trend is getting well known when it crops up on TV. It's probably as close as I will get to the real thing too. Come west, come west! By the way, I also read an article in a Sept magazine about the one in Montreal, O Noir (I think it's called). It's one of the ones that uses blind servers. Apparently some "cheat' with sighted servers with night vision goggles. I don't think much of that.

I watched it last night, it premiered earlier this week here in Canada. I won't be watching again. I might if I knew more what was fictionalized and what was sticking to the facts. I prefer things set in the here and now.

It was quite quirky as most of CSI's episodes are. I thought it was very funny. I won't give it away, but the actor who played a blind waiter was as good as Ron was playing blind. And Blind was the name of the dining in the dark restaurant on this show. Funny you should mention night vision goggles. That was also part of this show. I am thinking of a different take on the whole thing maybe as a fan fic.

I saw a show called Torchwood last night. I'm not sure if it's brand new, or just "new to Canada" . It's a BBC production, in associatiion with the CBC. Krissie, are you or anyone else familiar with this?
It's about a highly secret group, above the governement even, that investigate aliens and alien technology. It was a little bit like the X-Files. In the opening scene, they were using a glove that can revive the dead for two minutes (jut like Pushing Daisies!)

Last night's episode of Moonlight was definitely better than the pilot. The bad guy was not played by the actor who played Leonard Mattis but he sure reminded me of him--intelligent, well-spoken but crrreeepppyyy! To bad the writer who penned this one has already left the show.
And I continue to love the character of Joseph!

Started on a Monday night after Supernatural then got shifted to a graveyard timeslot midweek.

Hi Innie, I watched it here and was getting into it. Liked the lead woman a lot, the lead guy was very very handsome IMHO although no where the actor RE is. Stories were not what had been promised in the pilot set up. Sadly the network pulled it after less than a dozen shows. DH said he had expected it. Oh and I found the accents annoying after a while. Is there a thread on LIFE? Cause that is a show I think I can get into. Pity they didn't choose a more attractive lead but I liked the quirkiness very much, and YES I agree with whoever said it has SO many parralells with BJ. ANyone else still watching it? Sadly the network pulled it after less than a dozen shows. DH said he had expected it. Oh and I found the accents annoying after a while. I was annoyed with the Welsh accent even in the Pilot. Didn't take me long! I'm sure the cancellation will happen here too, so I won't get too into it. Thanks for the heads up! I think Hoosier is watching Life. Go for it, start the thread, maybe others are too! As for me, here's the only show I'm looking forward to. Next Sunday's the night! Too bad you can't see it Chris, it's about a horse ranch, I'm sure you'd love it. www.cbc.ca/heartland/My mother is awaiting the Woman's Murder Club, next Friday, on ABC.

Speaking of the Woman's Murder Club, I noticed on Barbara Hall's blog (creator of Joan of Arcadia and Demons), that she was writing episode two of this series. It also mentions that she is doing consulting work for the show.

Oh... dear!!! You got me laughing aloud with this comment because... You do realise that the characters speak with Welsh accents because they are Welsh, don't you? And that Torchwood is shot in Cardiff as, in fact, are some of the Dr Who episodes?
MODIFIED to add: Having just looked back on the last few posts, I think I might have got the wrong end of the stick here. Which show were you talking about as having annoying Welsh accents? My poor little brain can't cope when the shows aren't named in the replies!
Yes, Inuvik, I'm familiar with Torchwood. The series of Torchwood you have now was shown over here last autumn.
I'm not a fan of Torchwood. Which is a shame because I have liked the last three series of Dr Who and, without wanting to give anything away, I gather that a character I like from Dr Who will be showing up in the second series of Torchwood. However, even said character's presence won't be enough to make me want to watch.
The Tudors: I saw part one on Friday... and found myself having trouble to keep up with who, what and why. My friend, however, who has a much firmer grasp on history than I do, seemed to have absolutely no problem following what was going on and didn't, as far as I could tell, have any major gripes about the facts. (I'll have to check on that with her, though.)

Sadly the network pulled it after less than a dozen shows. DH said he had expected it. Oh and I found the accents annoying after a while. This is because Torchwood is a British show which means there are only 13 episodes in a season. I believe Channel 10 actually did finish the season but very late at night on either a Wednesday or Thursday.
