I've been to Williamsburg more times than I can count so if you'd like some pointers or suggestions just PM me or ask right here. Didn't know that about Jackson horse. Of course when we went I really wasn't looking under the horse. Loved the pictures and love DC!

CW at Christmas time is BEAUTIFUL. My sister and I went a couple of years ago, missed the Grand Illumination since we were stuck in MA due to 2 or was it 3 feet of snow, but when we finally did make it to Williamsburg it was worth the hassle of changing everything around due to the storm.

Thanks so much for the DC pictures, longlashes, shmeep, and bluedelft -- even if they do make me a little homesick for my hometown!

Thanks for all the great pictures Shmeep and for the history lesson - who knew?
My brief forays into DC have consisted of the MCI Center - for Bocelli - a side trip to Gordon Biersch's brewery on the way, Union Station, RFK Stadium for many soccer games and a harried trip along Pennsylvania Avenue in the aftermath of a very large war protest. At least it was Cherry Blossom time so as quick as it was, it was spectacular.
The pictures you and Bluedelft have posted have definitely woken the desire to make that trip in and have a tourist kind of day! But I'll definitely be waiting until the fall breezes blow.
P.S. (Hope you have a great time with your Mom and Dad.)
