I've never made a game before. So I want help tweaking the rules! (It'd be fun if we had a way to play a board game... Each of us would have to be a minor character, and avoid getting a Death card, eg: "shot by Mike Barreras," or "jumped out a seventh story window." Death would send us backwards, back to start, do not pass Go... Whoever gets to the finish line first wins... A mix between Life and Sorry and Monopoly. "Arrested for passing bad checks in China Town." But I am v. tired, and can't come up with something clever and new right now.) For right now, I'm just going to outline possible characters, and y'all can give input and we'll eventually get to play.
Leaving out Ben Crider, after what happened with little Jake.

I've had thirteen hours of sleep--woo hoo!--so now I'm ready to play around with suggestions.
These are all characters who either never spoke (mostly because they were already dead), or we never saw at all. But, they were pertinent enough that they got spoken of, and we know pretty much what their fates were.
Hence, new rules, as most of them never survived the show, so "Survivor" doesn't quite cut it. Everything we can say about them is speculation, and we also must keep in mind that what was said about them might not always be accurate (personal bias).
My only thought at the moment is: we can start them all off at zero points. Plus or minus them based on whether or not they deserved their fates, who they had to put up with in life, how they may have handled that and conducted their days... But, they must have points in order to minus them, which is one way to keep them from coming back to life. (Or maybe, they just can't go below negative five...)
The goal is to get them up to ten points. Then at the end, since we don't have the option of killing them off, we either bring them back to life, or change their fate, perhaps lay out a typical day for them? Are they reformed? Did they learn anything?
Then, the ones who were so dispicable they could never make it to ten points (if there are any), perhaps at the end, we can have people give them a day in hell, punishment for their crimes.
One point at a time, vote twice per post, post twice a day, like always.
Input? Feedback? Does this make any sense at all? I have people talking over my head, so concentration at this moment is almost nill.

Okay, okay, I'll post some rules. I just know there's going to end up some problems... Oh well.
I'm going to start them all off at ten points, so the negative amongst us can have their say. We can add or subtract one point per character, per post, two posts per day. There's no saying either of them HAS to be positive in a post. Feel free to be as nice or mean as you want.
I decided we're going to do this as sort of a Heaven or Hell game. Just to be different. If that doesn't work, we can go back to survivor style.
So basically, if said character gets down to zero points, the person who puts them down to zero gets to give them a day in Hell OR they can get hell on earth revival, where they come back, zombie-like, and bad things happen.
If said character gets up to twenty points, they can either be revived and get a second chance at life, and the person bringing them back can do a "day in the life," or something, OR they can go straight to Heaven, and have a nice day.
Be creative with their "endings", when we get there. And with your posts on why you give them points or take them away.

Yup if that is a correct response, then yes, that is my first post. I don't think there really is a "correct" response, or not. I think I was just thinking along the lines of, it doesn't have to be something that was mentioned in the show, it can be speculation about them. It would be hard to stick strictly with the script about them, since these characters didn't actually exist. --GB |
