I've really enjoyed reading these, so here are my answers...

1. WHAT COLOR ARE YOUR KITCHEN PLATES? White background with floral designs. (Not my first choice, but they've grown on me over time.)

2. WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING NOW? I've just finished The Stranger House by Reginald Hill. I'm not sure what I'm going to read next, and at the moment I'm spoiled for choice!

3. WHAT IS ON YOUR MOUSE PAD? My mouse. Oh, you mean, what design? An advert for a bank that I no longer bank with. (The mat was a freebie years ago.)

4. FAVORITE BOARD GAME? The Settlers Of Catan (but I haven't found anyone to play it with in years). Kahuna is very good, too, but ditto.

5. LEAST FAVORITE SMELLS? Vomit!

6. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING? Wha' time is it? (And, in the winter, is it light yet?)

7. FAVORITE COLOR? Red (leaning more towards the burgundy end of the spectrum than orangey).

8. LEAST FAVORITE COLOR? That depends. Some shades of turquoise are fairly horrid, and I really hate black umbrellas. If the weather is miserable enough to need an umbrella, you really need one that's gaudily bright to lift your mood.

9. HOW MANY RINGS UNTIL YOU ANSWER THE PHONE? If I don't answer within six, the answer phone kicks in. Otherwise, it depends how far away from the phone I am.

10. FUTURE CHILD'S NAME? I'll worry about it if I ever need to... which seems unlikely!

23. FAVORITE ACTRESS? Nobody specific. (I've never been much of a fan of specific actors or actresses so much as of the characters they've played.)

25. FAVORITE SPORTS TO WATCH? None. Sorry, but I find watching sports fairly boring. I might make exceptions for specific events, though.

26. YOUR SINGLE BIGGEST INTENSE PAIN? Losing my parents.

29. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASON? Spring for the lengthening days and the feeling that the world is coming to life again. Having said that, I really like the browns and oranges of the autumn and winter landscape here. Very atmospheric.

30. THE BEST PLACE YOU HAVE EVER BEEN? Where I am now! Seriously, this is a beautiful place to live. My three favourite 'moments' though, probably were: Mousa (One of the Shetland Islands, for a fantastic wildlife spectacle); Islay (off the West Coast of Scotland; ditto); and the top of a nearby hill (just for the most amazing sense of contentment and peace that I found there). Oh, and I really liked Toronto. (I lived there for a year and a half at the end of the 1980s.)

I so agree! My umbrella is yellow with flowers around the edge as a border. Cheers me up whenever I use it!
