1. What's the best job you've ever had? My current one! 2. What is the grossest thing(s) you have ever eaten? muktuk 3. What's your most embarrassing moment? too embarrasing to type here! 4. Green thumb or can't grow a thing thumb? green thumb, but don't care for plants really 5. Mud fight or Mud mask? Mud mask, definitely. Spas are great!
6. Strangest foods you have ever put together and eaten? Not much, I'm pretty conventional in my meals if I make them
7. What is the most sentimental thing you own? letters from my grandmother 8. Will you try anything once, or play it safe? play it safe 9. Would you date/marry a person 20 years your senior? Nope--10 years either way is my limit 10. Bugs, cute or pests? Pests! 11. Introvert or extrovert? Extrovert 12. Whiz in the kitchen or can't boil water? Hate being in the kitchen--get me outta there! But I can and do cook.

Okay, I'm game  1. What's the best job you've ever had? Tough choice between a happy year spent doing voluntary work - which involved being outdoors all the time, doing lots of manual work, and getting covered in mud at regular intervals - and my current one, which involves sitting in front of a computer most days... but I get paid! Plus, I have great colleagues, there is lots of laughter, and I get to live in one of the most beautiful places I have ever known. 2. What is the grossest thing(s) you have ever eaten? Kidney beans. Oh, I know they don't sound gross, but... Ugh! The taste! The texture! Olives are pretty grim, too. Generally, though, the weirder something is, the more likely I am to try it, just for the heck of it. (Yep, I tried a lot of shellfish before I developed an allergy, frogs legs are yummy, seaweed is pretty mundane, and sushi is... well. Sorry, but sushi is pretty weird. And I sometimes have to force myself to eat things that still have eyes when they are served. Can you tell I'm not a vegetarian?) 3. What's your most embarrassing moment? Not sure that I can think of anything truly horrific off the top of my head, but having a fit of laughter while we were chosing a coffin for my father comes pretty close. (With hindsight, the incident is pretty funny, but at the time? Not so much!) 4. Green thumb or can't grow a thing thumb? Depends. The weeds in my back garden are growing just fine, and my neighbour's cat has adopted my 'jungle' as her own. (I moved into this house a few months ago, and I'm still trying to figure out how I want to landscape, which is why I've not done anything with it, and why it's such a mess.) On the other hand, I did once manage to almost kill a Sansevieria, which had to be resuscitated by a very green-fingered relative. This was particularly embarrassing because The House Plant Expert has this to say about that particular species: "If all else fails, grown Sansevieria. This tough and universally popular plant... deserves its reputation for near-indestructibility." 5. Mud fight or Mud mask? Mud fight, I think. I don't have much patience for beauty treatments. 6. Strangest foods you have ever put together and eaten? I can't answer that. See, if I put things together, it's usually because I think they'll go. Mind you, do you have any idea how weird people think I am around here for actually liking peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? Marmalade and cheese sandwiches are very good, too. What can I say? Weirdness is cultural. I bet some of you guys would think haggis, tatties and neeps a bit odd, right? 7. What is the most sentimental thing you own?Probably the letters my dad wrote to my mother when they were courting and first married. I still haven't read them all. I can't quite bear to, somehow. 8. Will you try anything once, or play it safe?Depends what we're talking about. I have no desire to sky-dive or go in a submarine, but I have done things that have made other people describe me as "brave". 9. Would you date/marry a person 20 years your senior? I have nothing against the idea, but in practice? Maybe twenty years ago I would have done, but now? That would make my partner old! 10. Bugs, cute or pests? Depends what they are. Midges and wasps: pests. Big, fat, hairy house spiders: cute!  Seriously, I really don't mind spiders, because they eat all the flies. As for the midges, I just concentrate on their pivotal importance within the food chain and enjoy the bats and insect eating birds that, as a result, we have in abundance around here. 11. Probably share. But since I'm fairly short on family, there wouldn't be a ridiculous amount of people to have to share my wealth with! 14. Name the one celebrity who you never miss seeing/reading about? I can't. Honestly. I can't. I don't like hearing celebrity gossip, particularly as it relates to actors. It's their characters that I'm interested in, and I find knowing too much about the actors can detract from that. kitchen?Camping with a fire. But I'd need to take matches to get the fire started. Mind you, I'd quite like to have a pitch on a campsite and access to a proper toilet and shower. In fact, weather permitting, I just might go camping next weekend. I checked the tent yesterday, and it's looking good! Plus the camping stove is ready to go. |

4. Green thumb or can't grow a thing thumb? Usually a green thumb but there are some things I just can not grow for some reason.

6. Strangest foods you have ever put together and eaten? I didn't make this but I did have to taste test it--green tomato and mincemeat pie.

No green thumb here (unless I am helping Nick with a school project that involves a green marker and dragging said thumb across the page) 5. Mud fight or Mud mask? 2. What is the grossest thing(s) you have ever eaten? Asparagus. It was like eating a very tough rope.
3. What's your most embarrassing moment? Falling backwards off a chair a breaking it in the cafeteria in college.
4. Green thumb or can't grow a thing thumb? I hate dirt.
5. Mud fight or Mud mask? Again, just say no to dirt. It's dirty.

Booked the pitch. Got very excited. Checked the weather forecast again... The forecast has changed and now looks execrable! Apparently we're going to have rain. Lots of rain. Wrapping Chrismas gifts: being creative in a very short amount of time. Quite a challenge (try to wrap a pair of shoes without the cardboard box around them and make it look lovely...), but fun. 2. What is the grossest thing(s) you have ever eaten? Pork snout (?) strangely marinated. Wanted to give the rest of it to a dog but the dog ran away... 3. What's your most embarrassing moment? I don't know what the most embarassing was (so many incidents..) I can tell you the most recent: I was talking to a colleage at work, wanted to get back to the reception, turned around (but didn't take the full turn) and started walking - right into the doorframe, head first. That isn't even the embarassing part. But it happened infront of my patients... Luckily they still have faith in me ;D 4.
