I'm loving reading all the replies! (If you haven't done this quiz, please do. This is fun!) O.K. Just for you Krissie X2 1. What's the best job you've ever had? In the power mad 80's I wrote and ran change management programs for a global company. Travelled the world, knew no bounds and hadn't met a single professional failure. ( sigh...) 2. What is the grossest thing(s) you have ever eaten? sneaky anchovies that crept onto my pizza just to piss me off. 3. What's your most embarrassing moment? I don't really do embarrassment but... My darling and I eloped in '99 and my wedding dress, which I had bought about two years earlier was a size 6-8 while I had blossomed to a size 12. So it was pinned together with safety pins down my back and covered with my long hair. As Elivs walked me down the isle ( not my idea) he oggled my escaping nipple continually... (blush) 4. Green thumb or can't grow a thing thumb? Green thumb ;D 5. Mud fight or Mud mask? mask, thank you, with a glass of champagne! 6. Strangest foods you have ever put together and eaten? Peanut buter and jam 7. What is the most sentimental thing you own?A 5 inch soft toy that was my puppy's first toy. 8. Will you try anything once, or play it safe?If it looks like fun I'll try anything. 9. Would you date/marry a person 20 years your senior? Probably not. If the question was 20 years younger... yes. 10. Bugs, cute or pests? Cute. Absolutely. I even pick up spiders. ( Yes girls, scream, you know you want to.) 11. Introvert or extrovert? Blush, extrovert. 12. Whiz in the kitchen or can't boil water? I have burnt water, but I have also turned out gourmet meals, so it depends on the day. 13. If you became rich, would you share with your family and friends or keep it for yourself? Share. That's one of the best things of times when I have had money, no breaks on generocity. Whereas, when I don;t haveit, I find it annoying to have to be sensible. 14. Name the one celebrity who you never miss seeing/reading about? Ron Eldard Esq. 15. Camping in a tent with a fire you make yourself or RV with full kitchen? Full RV with kitchen, spa, surround sound... chef... ( giggle) Even when we went to confest, we took a camper van.

1. What's the best job you've ever had? Paid - the one I've got now, I get to work with the most fabulous people and ideas.
Unpaid - thanks LL for making me think about this one - being part of family especially being partner to the big fulla, mum to our gorgeous kids.
2. What is the grossest thing(s) you have ever eaten? Anchovies. Anywhere. On anything.
3. What's your most embarrassing moment? There's so many by some people's standards as I am a touch on the loud side, but even by my standards falling over on one of busiest streets in Sydney cbd while very pregnant, splitting skirt up back, yes all the way, having to walk back into office past building site. It was good.
4. Green thumb or can't grow a thing thumb? Useless.
5. Mud fight or Mud mask? Mask, anytime, anywhere. Beauty treatment lover. It's all about me.
6. Strangest foods you have ever put together and eaten? Dip celery and carrot sticks in Vegemite.
7. What is the most sentimental thing you own? The panda bear (toy, and totally unsound but it was the 70s) that I got went to hospital when I was 5. Kids now snuggle up to him.
8. Will you try anything once, or play it safe? Try.
9. Would you date/marry a person 20 years your senior? Dunno it's many years since I've been on the circuit - I probably would have during celebrated dating period of late teens early 20s.
10. Bugs, cute or pests? Absolutley necessary part of the way the world works but draw the line at cute and wish cockroaches were never made. Live close to a lot of restaurants, inner city. Some of em are the size of cadilllacs in our immediate neck of woods.
11. Introvert or extrovert? Total, total extrovert in public sense but introvert tendencies.
12. Whiz in the kitchen or can't boil water? Useless. Good thing big fulla is talented or everyone would be malnutrited.
13. If you became rich, would you share with your family and friends or keep it for yourself? Share with great love and pleasure.
14. Name the one celebrity who you never miss seeing/reading about? David Peachey (plays Rugby League for the mighty, mighty South Sydney Rabbitohs). He is heaven on a stick to watch playing football in every sense of the term.
15. Camping in a tent with a fire you make yourself or RV with full kitchen? Full everything.
This is fun. Thanks!
Matilda

This looks like fun. Heck, I'll play. 1. What's the best job you've ever had? Not so much a job as a profession, the one I have now: writing. 2. What is the grossest thing(s) you have ever eaten?A raw clam, on a dare. I know New Englanders love their raw clams but . . . eeuuuw. Kind of makes you wonder who was brave (or desperate) enough to try one for the first time. 3. What's your most embarrassing moment?Oh, dear. Too many from which to choose. To quote the great Angela Lansbury, "I live my life in paroxysms of remembered embarrassment." 4. Green thumb or can't grow a thing thumb? Green thumb. Love to garden, even if it's only in pots on my deck. 5. Mud fight or Mud mask? Definitely mask. Mud fights are for ill-groomed pinheads who hang around in bars, darling. 6. Strangest foods you have ever put together and eaten? If Vegemite is anything like Marmite -- which a British friend convinced me to try against all instinct -- I'm amazed you lived to tell the tale. The only thing I think of is that when I was ten, a friend and I used to sneak off into the woods and scarf down whatever she'd been able to pinch from the larder. On one memorable day we ate Jello powder (licked off a wet finger) followed by a jar of cocktail onions. 7. What is the most sentimental thing you own?The Peter Rabbit china cup that I drank out of when I was two. When you finish your milk, there's a bunch of carrots on the bottom of the cup. 8. Will you try anything once, or play it safe?Try anything once, with the notable exceptions of drugs or jumping out of an airplane. I may be mildly adventurous but I'm no fool. 9. Would you date/marry a person 20 years your senior?Depends entirely on the person. He's more than 20 years my senior, but Peter O'Toole, I'm yours. 10. Bugs, cute or pests? The only cute bug on the planet is the ladybug. The rest are pests. 11. Introvert or extrovert?I'm what is called a "situational extrovert." Great at a party or when I have to be ramped up, but the rest of the time? Just leave me in a quiet room with a book or three. 12. Whiz in the kitchen or can't boil water?Total whiz, and that includes angel food cake, killer apple pie, and baking my own bread. I have the same Southern cooking genes as our esteemed mlm88. 13. If you became rich, would you share with your family and friends or keep it for yourself?Share. Of course! Plus endow a few library school scholarships in the name of my late Aunt Fran the Librarian, who turned me on to acrostic puzzles and the books of Dorothy L. Sayers. You really can't take it with you, so spread it sound. Plus -- if I won Powerball -- I would pay off all my friends mortgages. Aaah, wouldn't that be heaven? 14. Name the one celebrity who you never miss seeing/reading about?Celebrities? Oh, dear. Who cares? Any Ron Eldard news (what there is of it) I can get here. The rest I don't much care about. Sorry. 15. Camping in a tent with a fire you make yourself or RV with full kitchen? This sounds suspiciously like sports. Neither one. My idea of a vacation involves room service and museums.

7. What is the most sentimental thing you own?The Peter Rabbit china cup that I drank out of when I was two. When you finish your milk, there's a bunch of carrots on the bottom of the cup. Karma for the memories! I also had a Peter Rabbit cup, with a picture on the bottom. I also had two bowls with different Peter Rabbit pictures on the bottom. Apparently, when I was little, I didn't eat much (wish I didn't like eating now!) Mom got two to encourage me to eat. I would eat because I wanted to know which picture was on the bottom. When I got a little older, I realized I could just sort of "swipe" the food away (it was often cream of wheat) to see the picture, and the incentive wasn't there anymore. We don't have the bowls, but mom still has the cup. Modified to add: that karma puts you at an even 200. Congrats on the karma milestone!

Vegemite is far, far superior. Matilda Not possible, my friend. Actually, I've not tried vegemite, although you can buy it over here. However, all the marmite eaters I know who have tried vegimite swear that marmite is much better. One day, I might try some vegemite, just for curiosity's sake. As you can probably guess, I like marmite. Lovely stuff. ;)However, I think it is one of those foods that you either love or hate... and that, over the years, has been reflected in the marmite adverts. The two slogans stick in my mind are: 'My mate marmite' and 'I hate marmite'. Now, can anyone else think of a food that has been marketed using the work 'hate' to sell it? On another note entirely, we had rabbit bowls, too. I have no idea what happened to them, though. Krissie

Marmite, schmarmite.
I had a rabbit bowl, as eldest I was the ony one (siblings still go on abot their not having had one, same as sister still goes on about having to wear my hand-me-down underwear, an occurence/s I cannot recall). Same as Krissie, no idea where it went but that would not be unusual in my family, bless it.
My eldest child was given a Snugglepot and Cuddlepie set, an Australian version of the rabbit stuff. Are there any other adaptations anywhere out there anyone knows about? It would be really cool to find out.
Maybe new thread but I don't know the rules. Can I start one? Don't want to put anyone out or offend with unreasonable requests.
Cheers

Now, can anyone else think of a food that has been marketed using the work 'hate' to sell it? I can come close. ;D Buckley's Cough Syrup here in Canada. It is marketed here with the slogan, "It tastes awful, but it works." The ads show people making terrible faces when they take it, complaining about it, etc. Even if it works, I have tried it and just can't take it anymore. It is so so awful! Other things work that just don't taste as bad. www.buckleys.com/index.html

1. What's the best job you've ever had? Non-paying: Disc jockey at college. Played anything I wanted! Paying: Public Affairs Officer for VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation). Got to coordinate a lot of road openings and travel all over my district whenever I wanted. 2. What is the grossest thing(s) you have ever eaten? pickled beets 3. What's your most embarrassing moment? When I was a kid, Jim & Tammy Faye Bakker has a local kid show on Pat Robertson's flagship TV station in Portsmouth, Va, before they all became hootin' hollerin' televangelists. Sorta like Bozo, but with more garish makeup (mee-ow!!). They would talk to the kids and read jokes in between the cartoons. They told an amazingly bad joke, and I reacted by sticking out my tongue and giving a double thumbs down -- just when the camera cut to me!!! 4. Green thumb or can't grow a thing thumb? Pretty green. 5. Mud fight or Mud mask? Definitely mud mask. 6. Strangest foods you have ever put together and eaten? I once got very creative and thought a black and white meal would be fun. So I got some black pasta (dyed with squid ink) and some white fish that I poached with a white sauce. It was disgusting. The pasta tasted like rancid fish, and the fish was just bland. Never again! 7. What is the most sentimental thing you own? My poor departed dog's toys. 8. Will you try anything once, or play it safe? Definitely, anything once! 9. Would you date/marry a person 20 years your senior? Sure, as long as he acted younger and wasn't decrepit. 10. Bugs, cute or pests? Mostly pests --excepting butterflies, lightning bugs and ladybugs. 11. Introvert or extrovert? Depends on the situation and the company I'm with. I can go both ways. 12. Whiz in the kitchen or can't boil water? Maybe not whiz, but pretty darn good, excepting that black & white fiasco (see #6 above). 13. If you became rich, would you share with your family and friends or keep it for yourself? Absolutely would share with some family and some friends, within reason, of course. 14. Name the one celebrity who you never miss seeing/reading about? Uh, Ron? 15. Camping in a tent with a fire you make yourself or RV with full kitchen? How about an RV with full kitchen, bed & bath but cooking over a Weber charcoal grill.
