Well when I Filled up at my local gas station this afternoon the price was still $2.89 a gallon which is what I had paid on Friday. Driving on my way to school this afternoon however, I passed through Louisville, Ohio and spotted a station that was only $2.69 a gallon. Since my birthday is next week I also had to stop at ther DMV and get my registration renewed and a new sticker for my licence plate and it was $75! . Me thinks having a car is getting to be really, really expensive.

Somehow I entered the wrong year when I registered and there's no way to change it. Carl says it was a good year, but I'm not ready to be that old yet. ;D I have to get my license sticker too. It's $74 here, but we also have to have an emissions test on the car every two years. Lucky me! This was my year. There goes another $37.45. Happy birthday! Go spend about $111!!

Gas here is $2.81 a gallon, but I had a .10 per gallon coupon from Kroger, and bought gas there on my way back from Memphis today. It still cost me $31.00 to fill it up. I'm going to make certain my next appointments are when the van runs to the Memphis VA.

There goes another $37.45. our state doesn't require emissions tests in every county,, but the county i live in requires it,, and it is yearly,, they raised the price of gas again in my little town,, from 2.97 to 3.05 today

We're sitting at about $3 per gallon give or take a few tenths. Crossing the river to Council Bluffs saves about .20 per gal.
On our trip to Ark and back the gas prices changed upward within 3 days by about a .25 in MO.
The question is, was the price raised on the same gas we purchased going down to Ark and back? I think so.
Lucy saw the news report where some people are crossing into Jersey to get the lower price even though the toll is about $6.00. And they are still saving.

The "cheap" station down the street from me is now up to $3.11 -- an increase of $.20 since I filled up there a week ago. The station across the street from it is up to $3.29.

Now that there is scattered shortages and empty pumps along the Eastern seaboard, price means nothing.
They'll fill the pumps up and charge higher prices and we'll thank them for it. (Whoever, "They" are.)

AAA is reporting the average price in the San Diego area is $3.23 a gallon for regular. When driving home yesterday, I passed a station with regular at $3.41 per gallon.

I was in Terre Haute yesterday ( no, I didn't go cruisin' the' Bash I didn't go that far into town!) and saw that the prices averaged 2.85 a gallon so pretty consistent in this area anyway.

In the sleep little town of Ashburn, Virginia, we are holding steady at $2.99 a gallon, regular, $3.13 a gallon premium. It seems the closer you get to DC, the higher the gas!

In the sleep little town of Ashburn, Virginia, we are holding steady at $2.99 a gallon, regular, $3.13 a gallon premium. It seems the closer you get to DC, the higher the gas! And less than an hour away and across the state line in Silver Spring, Maryland, we paid $3.09 for regular this afternoon--$66 to fill up my husband's Explorer Sport Trac. (I know, I know--he deserves it for driving a pickup/SUV.) On the way home, we saw a place advertising $3.19 for regular. I'm about to call my former carpooling partner and ask for a ride to work tomorrow. Jeepers. I'm just going to put this out there and see what others think. Mine is not a popular opinion, but I like the prices this high for societal, not personal, reasons--oil companies' monstrous profits notwithstanding. I think it's the only way to curb Americans' energy consumption. Yes, I realize it hits the lower-income people hardest--though the lowest of the low don't drive because they can't afford the insurance/upkeep anyway. But people will find ways to cope. Unfortunately, I think this is the best way of changing people's driving and consumption habits.
