A strange odor shut down part of the trains in NYC. According to the news, no one is quite sure what the smell was or where it originated.
May I suggest the smell originated from the losses by BOTH the Jets and the Giants football teams.
(Don't take it personal Bebe)
Any other ideas?
Later, Carl

I heard this morning that they said the smell came from New Jersey! They were joking, of course--or does it have something to do with Hoboken and all the unsavory activity that seems to come out of there Terre Haute, IN has a reputation for being odoriferous. They have had experts come in and do studies to see what and where the smell comes from. At first they said it was a medical lab that was burning its cultures, then it was a plant that makes railroad ties and it was the tannin etc but they have never definitively nailed it down. Its not a daily thing but there have been times when it does smell overwhelmingly of cooked cabbage.
