Julianna Margulies is pregnant
Actress Julianna Margulies is reportedly pregnant and due sometime in the winter. She's extremely private about her life so it's not clear whether she'll actually confirm the information. She's also reportedly engaged to her boyfriend, Keith Lieberthal.
Margulies is best known for her character, Carol, on ER. She's returning to television as a "rebellious" attorney who takes a liberal view of the law in order to protect the innocent in Canterbury's Law. Fox has not released a premiere date yet for her new show but it is expected to appear sometime in the mid-season. TV Guide is reporting that Margulies does not want the pregnancy written into the script, so expect to see a lot of creative camera work to hide the belly.

Seems to me, one of the reasons given when JM & RE broke up was that he wanted children and she didn't. I remember reading that she did not want to inflict the trauma of divorce that she went through because her parents divorced when she was young.
Change of heart?

I remember reading that she did not want to inflict the trauma of divorce that she went through because her parents divorced when she was young. Change of heart? Why do they always assume the worse  I can understand where she is coming from but come on. Just because your parents weren't right for each other doesn't mean it will automatically happen to you. Talk about pessimistic! Maybe RE was better off without her considering the baggage she brought with her. |

Yes, I know that we, as humans, are infallible, and I certainly wasn't implying that none of us have baggage by any stretch of the means. I was merely pointing out that there are two sides to every story. |

Talk about pessimistic! Maybe RE was better off without her considering the baggage she brought with her. Or if you do end up getting divorced, it doesn't necessarily have to be an ugly one. If you put an effort into it, a divorce can be quite civil, it doesn't have to end in a big fight. Who knows, maybe the statement about not wanting children was just an easy answer. It seems like neither she nor RE wanted to comment too much on their break-up and saying that they didn't agree on whether or not they were going to have children is as good a non-answer as any I can think of. I realize that I sounded rather harsh and judgmental toward Ms. Margulies and that is not what I intended. I sincerely hope that all goes well and that she has a happy healthy baby. Maybe for RE and JM it just wasn't the right time etc. to have a child and I have to commend them both for not having one if they weren't ready. Its easy to make a baby, being mature, responsible and loving parents is not.

The former "ER" actress was sporting a significant rock on her finger at the ALS benefit at Sapa on Monday night.
She has been photographed with her handsome escort, Keith Lieberthal, since the beginning of last year.
A rep for Margulies did not get back to us yesterday, although a source close to the actress tells us the couple is indeed quietly engaged.
