Anyone know NYPD's policy on interviewing minors? Do the police need to speak to parents? Get okay, have them in the room?
Any help appreciated, even if it's just what you think it might be.
Thanks ;D Natascha

Yes, a minor child cannot be interviewed by the police without the consent of/presence of the parents.

Yes, a minor child cannot be interviewed by the police without the consent of/presence of the parents. The cut-off age is eighteen. You can pick up a lot of accurate procedure/legalities by watching Law & Order!

Isn't that ridiculous? You can be old enough to go to war and die, but not old enough to have a drink. Unbelievable.

a minor can be questioned. nonspecific questions can be asked. the answers can incriminate.
