Oh, it was worth the wait! I enjoyed every minute of it, especially the new ME and her crush on Jim. Wonder if she would have been so quick to hit on him if he could see? Yeah, since he is practically every female's fantasy! Plus seeing Jim being willing to discuss his insecurities with Karen ( that is certainly a new facet to his personality) and Karen feeling that she needed to have his back concerning it. She is definitely the perfect partner for him. I am ready whenever you are, Ashatan. Bring it on! Not to rush you or anything, that is

Well, Jim handled it like Jim. Talking to Dimmey on his level was great. The way he got his phone number out of him was good too. All kids love to show off what they know. Also getting him to draw seemed to make him relax and forget about not talking a little bit.
Jim was always calm on the outside no matter what he was feeling on the inside. That must have been so hard, especially when children were involved. They got most of the information they needed because of it though. If Jim had flown off the handle, they wouldn't have gotten anything out of Dimmey.
Not rushing you or anything, but what happens to the other kids?? Enquiring minds want to know!

Great Job Natasha with that story. I knew I had four chapters waiting for me, and finally got time to read them all at once. I loved his interrogation of Dimmey, and the way he and Karen work together. It would have been great to have a second season and really see them grow as a team. Hope you are sitting at the keyboard writing the next story. Thanks again.

What a play to have Dimmey the subject of his own Amber Alert ! Now to find out who is Henry and what is this game that Dimmey wanted to take part in? He will probably be as nasty as good old Warren Doyle As ever, looking forward to your next installment!

[glow=red,2,300]DON"T READ IF YOU HAVEN"T READ THE STORY YET! SPOILERS![/glow]
Another great chapter! Having the jury listen to the tape of the interrogation was great because it gave the jury a chance to really feel for Dimmey. Then having the defense lawyer cry? Nice touch. Way to pull at the heart strings for poor "little" Dimmey!
Can't wait to see how Jim gets out of this one since he looks a bit guilty now thanks to the actress and Karen's blunder.

Someone on fanfic.net was really unhappy about where ch 11 stopped so here is ch 12, in case anyone here feels like that.

I have only gotten to chapter 11--I know, I know! I tried to get some Christmas shopping in yesterday!
What a scumbag lawyer. Where do they find these people--sleaze are us? Arghh! Jim was wrong in going as far as he did ( forget that they tape interviews? Not!) but he was playing to Dimmey's mental capacity-- bigger kid to a big kid, that sort of thing. Hopefully the DA can swing them back. Boy, am I hooked!

Christie is such a cow! She's forgetting that Dimmey's not five. Mentally, yes, but physically? He could kill her in two seconds. What is she thinking? Even though it wasn't very smart, Jim did what he had to do to get the information he needed. Cringe city when Jim was cleaning out his cut. Ouch!! That must have killed! I just have on question--Natascha, dear, what is Jim's big idea? ?

What is Christie's problem? She has been against Jim's return to work from the get go but she has never been so nasty about it. Making fun of him and all. You just wanted to smack her!
And that cut? Ouch! Sure he didn't need stitches?? Another visit to ME Jennie in order???
Have to say that the DA, Chris, needs sensitivity training as well. Walking off and leaving Jim just standing there! Come on! He's just lucky Karen didn't dump the coffee in his lap.

Hey thanks Natasha, hope I didn't pressure you into posting that. You're not staying awake all night typing are you? (or is it all day there, hmhmhmhmmmmm. ) I am dying to see how this is going to play out in the courtroom.

What a wicked prosecuter, but I have to admit, she's doing her job well. Plueezzz don't keep me waiting too long. I really want to know what Jim's plan is. I'm almost afraid to find out.

Wow! What a great ending! Jim took a big risk but I wouldn't expect him to do anything else, but did he have to let himself get beat up? Had me on the edge of my seat and flinching with every blow. I still think Christie's a cow! I know Jim's not totally blameless, but really, he just put his life on the line and she's so cold.
Love the humor at the end too. That is so Marty. I'm a bit sorry it's over.

Oh Natasha, I hate to see that one end. What an epilogue!
I especially liked images like this and insight into what makes Christie tick: "She remembered the times their wills had met like this, in opposition, his strength of body, her strength of mind clashing and igniting their desires. But that wasn't going to happen now; he couldn’t see the change from anger to desire that was signaled in her eyes, she couldn’t accept the soft gaze in place of the icy glare that would have brought chills and excitement."
Excellent writing, you certainly have a gift.
