This is an answer to Chris who asked, did the biker fic already get posted and she missed it. No, but in my timeline of BJ it is quite far in the future and I haven't posted any of the stuff from that far ahead yet. Unfortunately I seldom write in chronological order. Right now I'm doing one from like ten years ahead.  The biker fic is from about 2008 or so. I'm not sure how to put the furture stuff up until I've written some of the in the middle bits.  |

Fine, thanks for answering  I just got curious because you wrote it like we knew what you were talking about and I didn't remember it. My suggestion is to post them in the order you find to be the best. It might be confusing if you post one from the future because there might be references to events happening earlier on that we haven't read about yet. - Chris - I'm happy to know that there are more fics to come |

I loved the biker fic, it's what really got me into Ashatan's fic and subsequently this Board and really want to express admiration for it.
It's the fic that got me - and the biker fic was the one because, unlike most of the other BJ themes eg being a cop, pool is one I know a tiny bit about.
I spent a large part of the 80s and early 90s watching now life partner/husband/the father of children/really good cook/ whatever playing pool (yes bad feminist to only watch but really I suck at it) and Ash's depiction of both the actual playing and the cultures around it, especially the 'blokey' stuff and how the Jim character could still well and truly pull that off despite the negative expectations of King Bloke, Marty, was so darn good.
Not Dogs, Roosters - lovin that!
Also that the Karen character was holding her own in work/social environment - being with the boys in the place the real decisions are made, the pool game! This was great for me cos I work in the employment arena.
Similarly 'Expectations' with the baby thing and 'The One-Eyed Man' with such wonderful characterisation of Miss Mary - I suppose some of us like/don't like so much a fanfic story because of familiarity with themes? I dunno about anyone else but it's a big hook for me.
So thanks Ash for the biker fic. In my mind, it's "the pool fic".

You're right , Not Dogs, Roosters is a great fic as are Expectations and The One-Eyed Man  I think I have read any BJ fic there is, unless of course there are some I don't know about (though I'm not sure that is possible..) - Chris - Big time fan fic lover |
