Ah, Ash... What can I say apart from that you never fail me, do you? You definitely made me smile with this one, and helped to brighten up a quiet and grey Saturday afternoon. (So much for the weather forecast that promised glorious sun all weekend!) Where did you find that roadsign, though? And, um... What does it actually say? Another thing, Ash. I notice that you called your thread 'Vignettes'. Plural. But this was only one vignette. So dare I hope that you have some others stashed away for us to enjoy? Or are you at least planning on giving us some more? Krissie P.S. Hey. I just realised something. I don't think I've ever actually started a thread on these boards before.

Hey N, thanks for the vignette. It was fun, and made me think of Ron's role in Scent of a Woman. Only he didn't realize the driver was blind. Hope to see more.

I agree with Mary. It was fun. I read one part of it wrong the first time though. Instead of "The female part of Bettancourt and Dunbar" I read "The female part of Dunbar..." LOL! And their mirrored gestures remind me of the librarian and it reminds me of Scent of a Woman too. So many things in such a short time.
I hope you do another too. It's been too long.

N, I loved it as well. Definitely a quick pick me up on a break from the weekend chores! Are there more where that came from?

I loved it! Jim's excitement over doing something he hadn't been able to do since losing his sight, the cop's surprise at recognizing Jim as the driver of said vehicle, Fisk's reaction ;D I so hope there are more where this came from!

Yay! Ash is back, with an intriguing new take on fic. Brava and a dash of karma, girlfriend. What a terrific idea! To those of you out there who may not have the time or inspiration for long and intricately plotted fics, I take up ashatan's gauntlet and throw it down . . . . . . more vignettes, anyone?

Now, that was fun! Thanks, ash! I definitely needed a good laugh today. It was fun, and made me think of Ron's role in Scent of a Woman. Only he didn't realize the driver was blind. I, too, thought of RE's scene in Scent of a Woman. But the way he played the scene always left me wondering, unlike rducasey, whether "Officer Gore" had figured out that Al Pacino's character was blind.

Maggie, MLM, BJO, Krissie, Kathy and RDU and Hoosier, Thanks so much for your praise. It means the world to me. Ages ago, like a year, we talked about the must have driving scene in every blind movie/show etc. and I remember saying it couldn't be done without corn. But then, having said that my mind just had to go and find a way which was at least in some way justified. I hope there was enough hesitation on Jim's part in the beginning to show he didn't invite it, even if he did relish it afterward. ;D PS MLM, I too, am still not sure if the cop Ron played in Scent of a Woman had realised the driver was blind or not. Ah, Ash... What can I say apart from that you never fail me, do you? You definitely made me smile with this one, and helped to brighten up a quiet and grey Saturday afternoon. (So much for the weather forecast that promised glorious sun all weekend!) Where did you find that roadsign, though? Google And, um... What does it actually say? "Police Parking Only" Another thing, Ash. I notice that you called your thread 'Vignettes'. Plural. But this was only one vignette. So dare I hope that you have some others stashed away for us to enjoy? Or are you at least planning on giving us some more? Um, well since this one was so well received yes, I think I will. I have a few stashed away. Perhaps one a week or something would be okay? (DOnt wan't to throw too much at the board.) I also hope others pick up the gauntlet Maggie threw and do some. I'm also open to making them up if people have a particular thingy they'd really liketo see ort something they'd always wondered about etc. Krissie P.S. Hey. I just realised something. I don't think I've ever actually started a thread on these boards before. Yay! Congrats.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ash This was fun The very last sentence made me laugh out loud ;D “But Boss, we totally missed the pedestrian.” Jim and Karen said together. You're so right, having a scene with Jim driving could easily be really corny, but this is absolutely not corny in any way, it's perfect!!! Karma Take care and keep smiling - Chris

This one was really funny. Was it all a bad dream? I'd be totally stressed if I was a guy and someone was calling me princess too. And that Marty. Some people never change no matter what you call them.

Sorry Maggie! Krissie started this thread a few days ago. I didn't pay attention to where I was posting (speaking for myself). I was just going with the flow. Here's my posts moved/deleted. Matilda ! I just noticed you have changed your avatar to a piccy of Jim! The braille is to small for me to read, what's it say? Does this mean you're a fan now? Noice, Ash. You are cracker matey. Tks. Tilda Has another one bitten the dust??

Somehow I missed the fact that you posted the little story about Kyle. Must have been the image of Princess Jim. What a shock for Kyle to find out Jim is blind and tough for Jim too--wanting it both ways just a bit. The balance of the two is hard sometimes.

A VERY VERY kind member of this Board created it for me and I am eternally grateful. You of all people are aware as to my incompetence in all matters technology. Re Braille, as you know Ash I walk around this world in a state of blissful ignorance. Don't know what it means. Help me my friend, help me. Isn't that avatar from the opening? If so, I think it would say "Ron Eldard".
