Hello! The only thing that I am going to say about this film is that you will all be more than pleased. It is a superbly wonderful film and all the actors (yes, please, let us remember that there is more than one actor in this film! ) are fabulously cast. For the hell of it, I certainly want to thank the owners of the Silly Lily for showing me around their boat/tackle/bait store out in the Hamptons/Montauk area, they were so lovely and hospitable - seeing it on the big screen and knowing I was there was a hoot and a half! (We have a summer home right over there, as well!) Ron certainly is in the film MUCH MUCH more than he was in Freedomland and only one thing I will share: pay close attention to the beginning credits. The music supervisor (something like that) is Jim Dunbar - I'm not lying. Thanks for the report, Barb. Most of the reviews have been positive and it would seem that you agree! I can hardly wait to see it! Oh me too, I am so looking forward to getting it in the mail. Karma for the sneak preview. Now you can include that marina on your Feathertush-Frickenbutt Tour. Maybe you better invest in a helicopter.

I was just flipping channels and happened to catch the end of Ebert and Roeper. And lo and behold, Roeper and guest critic Lemire were talking about Diggers. The film, on their rating scale, received a "BIG TWO THUMBS UP!" As Roeper said, there are so many movies he has seen that he has wanted 15 - 20 minutes shaved from. Diggers, on the other hand, is one that he wanted 15 - 20 minutes more of. "A terrific little film with great acting that you should check out, whether on the big screen or on the DVD!"
Very Nice!

Brilliant! I must certainly agree with that and add that Diggers is a film you would want more of, but when the film concludes, you walk away satisfied. For anyone who's remotely interested in Ron's other works I say again when you all get your DVDs, you will be happy indeed!!! I will also add that, even if Ron had not been remotely involved with this film, Paul Rudd's acting is wonderful and his character is someone most, if not all of us, can relate to on some level. I do believe it is a film that deserves more than TWO THUMBS UP - Ron being cast in it is the cherry on the sundae!

I have a question to ask: am I the ONLY ONE on this board who has seen Diggers? "Probably, yeah"My daughter saw it last night in Boston. She is about as close-mouthed as you are Barb, saying "Wait and see it for yourself. I don't want to give anything away". So I will hold my breath until mine arrives in the mail. She did like it though and thought the acting was wonderful. I did get a kick out of some guy on IMDB who said he saw the film, and then went home and it was on HDNet. He said, "what's the deal with that?" I'm not even sure I know what HDNet is. Is it pay channel?

I assume you're all going to get it so.....

"No...no...no", "that's fine", (how come I can't stop talking in quotes?) I think we would all like to wait and see it for ourselves before discussing. I know HD is high definition, but I know lots of people with HD tv's but they do not get that channel, so I wondered what exactly that was.

HD-Net was founded by Mark Cuban (Yes, also a vested interest in Landmark Cinemas, Magnolia Entertainment and need we say, Diggers). It has been around for at least 5 years but unfortunately it is not yet widely available through all cable companies - DirecTV and Dish Network offer it as do Charter Communications Time Warner Cable and Verizon FIOS. Since my area is serviced by Comcast, I can't get it - HD TV set or not.

Yes, and that's the thing, you have to have that specific TV to get the channel - grrr..... Okay, I'll keep a lid on it. I was curious, though, knowing it was shown elsewhere besides NY if anyone besides me ventured out (oh, yea, like I'd miss a first night of any Ron performance!). I look forward to when we can discuss this film (though, not ad nauseum ) and see what the takes are on the characters. I'm going to take a Pilates class this morning in the hopes of stretching out my back - it's really bothering me, thus, why I'm home. *sigh*

So, I've been asked about the ending of Diggers by inuvik, who I lovingly refer to as "innie" just because me likes it.
Fine, I guess I have to spill. Sorry, don't read further if you don't want to know.......okay?
I'm a guest-star at the very end and Ron runs off with me....
GOTCHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (ROTFL)
