This is hilarious! I don't have anything quite like this, but I am sure if the neigbors saw it they would absolutely try to re-create it! Thanks.

What I want to know is: who are the "people" figures supposed to be? There's too many to be Wise Men, and they're all over the place. Think they're supposed to be Jews wandering in the desert for 40 years?

I think both of them are really neat. The first one is a hoot. In the town where I live, there is a big park downtown that is lit up every year for the month of Dec. They use something like 18 000-20 000 lights and have well over 100 displays. There is also a home decorating contest in town every year. Some people go all out, although I've never seen anything quite as unique as the first one.
People come from all over, including the States, to see it each year.
I'll take my camera down to the park sometime soon and post a few pictures.

I noticed a lot more of that kind of thing when I was living in The San Fernando Valley. L.A. is a bit more...extreme than many places, I guess. There are whole neighborhoods there dedicated to becoming a Christmas Extravaganzas.
Here in Maryland/DC, I don't see it too much. There are lights and occasional inflatable Santas, but nothing compared with what I see around where my parents live. Maybe I just don't know where to look, but my neighborhood doesn't have anything too over-the-top in a Christmas way.

Wow I just watched the video. IF these were my neighbors the music would drive me crazy. And if they didn't have the music there would just be a bunch of randomly blinking lights, which I think look tacky.

Our town has a contest each year for holiday displays--some are just outrageous. What I thought was really cool happened about three years ago. Our dog Bear was little and we were on a potty run. The power had gone out so I had my flashlight. The stars were amazing!!! There were so many of them. I had to run and get everybody outside to take a look!

My co-worker, who thought the video reminded him of Desert Storm, now says, "I think they deserve not only an award, but a big fine."
I didn't know there was music the first time I watched! Isn't that the scary Christmas theme from Gremlins?

someone else just sent me this ,, and they titled it " would you kill your neighbor if he did this?" as i watched it again, ,those little wondering objects do appear to be individual christmas trees,,and when they all light up at once, they seem to make one larger tree the peace symbol is absolutely out of place in this display and it also looks like mist is coming out from under the garage door,, too much for my mind to watch too often whew...
