This is a wonderful play. Eilene Atkins is brilliant. RE more than holds his own with this amazing actress. Jenna Malone was not up to their levels. The play is very well written and very important.
After the play we did wait by the stage door. All of the cast members we very gracious and signed my Playbill. Ron Eldard is absolutely adorable. He was willing to speak to everyone outside the door. As he came out he apologized for taking so long. The man seems very classy. I don't remember who, but someone said he would probably be a great guy to meet in more casual circumstances and chat with, I agree with that assessment.
I am very happy to have traveled across the country to see this play and to meet with Mary, Kathy & Anita. Mary is surprisingly nice for a serial killer. Kathy was lovely and has gorgeous grandchildren. And Anita, let me just say I was thrilled she was able to have her moment with Ron Eldard, and I don't think she was disappointed. Then there is Miss. Maggie. What can I say? The very picture of East Coast class. Kate Hepburn suit, lovely London Fog, all on one of the most fabulous women - along with shmeep - I have met in my life.

It's the day after and I have thought often today of those of you who ventured to New York this weekend; and more than that, I have wondered if Anita will actually need that plane to return to Canada -- I would think she is probably still flying high!
I am so thrilled for her - for all of you actually - and can't wait to hear the details!

I'm sure bjobsessed could work the countdown out for you, seeing what a good job she did on theirs. I talked to Anita this morning (courtesy of Barbara's cell phone). It was great to "meet" her. I got some of the details from Saturday night, but would love to read a full account of their time in NY. Becky

I wore blue jeans with a black sweater (from Ann Taylor Loft) and black boots. I think there's a bit of everything, really.

Wow - I don't know where to begin. I'm glad to hear that you were all thinking of us this weekend, didn't know which post to quote, but chose this from Mouse. It was such a thrill to meet Anita, Mouse, and Maggie yesterday for the first time; Barbara this morning; and to see Mary (who is also a grandmother!) again. What a wonderful group of women. Bright, talented, warm, with great senses of humor and all bound by our admiration for a wonderful actor and utterly charming man. I can hardly wait for Anita to get home and post her personal story, but she has given me permission to post a little about our weekend. Yesterday afternoon was spent with Mouse, her sister - who deserves a Medal of Honor for putting up with all of us Ron/Blind Justice Junkies- and Maggie. What an amazing place this board is to have brought us all together! The play was fabulous. I know you have all seen reviews of it, including Mouse's so I won't go into detail. But Ron was simply amazing. We waited at the stage door and were rewarded by being able to speak to all of the cast members. Of course Ron, who was last out, was the main attraction. Everything that the others who have met him have said is absolutely true. He is gracious, charming, and humble. I could go on and on, but will not, as I do not think he would want me to. This morning in the pouring rain Anita, Mary, and I; using our great detecting skills, some print outs of Up on the Roof screen caps and Kenina's description of her group's B/J tour were able to locate what we are certain is the bench that Jim sat on waiting for Terry by the Brooklyn Bridge. Each of us was able to sit on the VERY wet bench and have our picture taken. Karma to Mary who kindly sat first, thus absorbing quite a bit of the pooled water! Due to time restrictions and the weather, we really didn't get to visit some of the other B/J sites that we had hoped to. Next time!!! Anita had to leave for the airport at 1:30. Mary and I weren't getting busses till this evening. So we wound up making a HUGE sacrifice and seeing Doubt again. (We had tried for other plays, but no luck). We were rewarded for our sacrifice by seeing Ron again outside the stage door - this time without a hat!!! I am posting my favorite picture that I took this afternoon for you all to enjoy. Mary also got up her nerve and asked for a picture with Ron and he of course obliged. Peer pressure made me have to ask too. So regardless of what the pictures come out like - at least we had the pleasure of having his arm around us for however fleeting a moment. We literally walked on air back to the hotel to pick up our luggage and leave. All in all - a dream weekend. To those of you who haven't had the experience yet - Make sure you do whatever you can to see this wonderful play and meet this unbelievable man! Here's the picture...Lashes for you, Lori. Dogma - you can have the earlobes.
