Okay, everyone. This isn't easy, but Mouse has a confession to make. Okay, It's my confession, but she helped.
There is no such person as pennylane.
See, here's what happened. This morning I made her up because I was testing something on the board and then, while she was there, I thought it would be really funny to give her the creepiest avatar I've ever seen and start posting as her. Mouse did it too and we thought it was very very amusing.
Well, a very wise person I know told me a sad tale about another board like this that was brought down by such antics. People were hurt. Friendships were lost. You get the picture. This person also reminded me of how important trust is on a board like this. That is absolutely true. We were just thinking of how silly we were being and were giving no thought to how this kind of situation could blow up in our faces and ruin the board.
If we have offended any of you, we are truly sorry. That was not our intention in any way and we promise not to do anything like this again.
But we have grown a little attached to pennylane and she may make an appearance from time to time. Just don't take her very seriously.
I hope that clears it all up and that you guys don't hate us because we really care about the trust on this board and the feelings of its members.

Not to worry. All is forgiven as far as I'm concerned. Even if I was offended, which I'm not, I would respect you guys alot for admitting it. Not an easy thing to do. It would take a lot for me to leave. As I've always said, it's like family here and part of being in a family is forgivenss. Ok, I'm off my personal soapbox now. Love you guys. (big hug)  |

It's the holidays! It's the silly season! Just promise you'll bring Pennylane back to comment on red carpet fashions at Oscar time . . . she does have an interesting sense of style!  Or not. ;D |

Your extremely thoughtful Voltaire quote was the first thing that made us think this might not be the best idea. We love this board and all of the members way to much to stir up trouble. I have to say one more thing:
Just like mlm, I fell for it too hook, line, and sinker.
I did wonder though, how anyone could possibly like CSI. I watched it the other day just so I could see what I'm not missing. I bearly made it through the whole episode. What horrible acting!
Hey Shmeep! When are you going to write more in Expectations? It's been a while, or are you done and I missed something?

Hi, I'm pennylane and I'm a Blind Justice junkie). But the real question is: How much longer do I have to wait for a new chapter of Expectations? |

Shmeep and mouse, you did too good a job of creating "pennylane," although, with hindsight, the CSI: Miami post should have been a giveaway.
I, too, am relieved we didn't have a real "troll" (I think that's the correct term for such people) on our hands. I'm just considering the whole episode as practice in case someone like that really does show up.
For the record, I accept your apologies and appreciate the spirit in which they were given.

(big hug) Wow, you go to work for 8 or 9 hours and look what you miss! When I got home I actually read the most recent posts first, so I knew that pennylane was a hoax before I read her posts. So that took the edge off. I agree with Anita - All's forgiven. |

See, I was just as annoyed by what she said as you were (no, I didn't write that one) and I tried to think of a clever retort and I just couldn't because I got busy at work. Well, I got back and there was your perfect quote and, even though I knew it was against a fake person, it made me happy to see it because it was classy and non-argumentative and yet it really made a point. |

Reading through all these posts, I just have to say that you guys are lovely! Thanks for accepting our apologies. We learned our lesson.
As for Expectations...I'm working on it and waiting for inspiration to hit. Thanks for asking.
