Hope you enjoy. Oh we're all Blind Justice junkies And we just can't get our fill Of our handsome homicide detective And the rest of the cast, as well. (sorry) Mary, this is great! Just one question, why the "(sorry)"? I think I'm missing something. Kyt

Oops, It's just not a rhyme (fill, well), just a bit of poetic license. As my 2nd graders are always quick to point out, "That doesn't rhyme." Try to get them to understand that all poetry doesn't rhyme. That's why I wrote. "sorry."

Thanks for the clarification. Doesn't rhyme. Heh. Kyt

Mary, I was so touched to see my name included in your wonderful poem! I love it and am going to save it to my computer to read again. I'm proud to be part of this fandom - our numbers are few but our bond is strong.

I'm glad you liked the poem. You have given us all so much that I wanted you to know how we appreciate you. You are right. Our numbers may be few but I think we are all very much alike and know quality when we see it. And as I said in the poem, the ache of losing this wonderful series is tempered by the friendships we have made. See you on the chat.

Oh thank you, and to Alice YES, I love the shirt! That should be our official uniform of the BJJC (Blind Justice Junkies Club). And let's all meet in front of the *8th Precinct" in NYC. Wouldn't we have a ball? Since you brought it up ...I was in NYC this past weekend, and I took the opportunity to do my own personal Blind Justice tour. I took the F train to York Street, took a pic inside the station where Jim stood in the pilot, then walked down Washington Street to their "residence," which is really an office building, and then along the Brooklyn Bridge park area where the Marlon's Brando scenes were shot. Soooooo cool. I also dragged my husband to the corner of Hester and Bowery, but alas, there is no Korean grocery there - although it is in Chinatown. I wasn't sure where the police headquarters that they use for the outside shots of the 8th precinct was located - though I know it's in Brooklyn somewhere - so I couldn't visit there, unfortunately.

Kenina, please, please, please tell me where I can find those things. I really want to visit those places when I am in New York next month (next month!!!). I really want to take my own BJ Tour of the NYC. Hey, maybe I could meet up with some of you East Coast people during my stay in the city! Let's see, who is out there: Shmeep, Kenina, Doobrah, Maggie, am I missing anyone? I am working on brunch reservations in the Crystal Room at Tavern on the Green, either that or high tea at the Plaza. A New Yorker friend of mine (who grew up in Red Hook by the way!), told me I should really do one of those two things). Anyone up for a Beyond Justice get together?

I am working on brunch reservations in the Crystal Room at Tavern on the Green, either that or high tea at the Plaza. A New Yorker friend of mine (who grew up in Red Hook by the way!), told me I should really do one of those two things). Anyone up for a Beyond Justice get together? Are you coming to NYC for pleasure or business, and alone or with someone? I was able to do most of my B/J touring while my husband was occupied at a military convention, thank goodness. :-) When I told him I went to some filming locations, he just rolled his eyes. What are the dates of your trip, housemouse? I am already planning another trip up there, just because I enjoy it so much. But I haven't picked any dates yet. I'd love to get together if we can get there at the same time. If not, you'd have to swing south a ways to meet up with Shmeep and me. :-) Okay, where are the places you need to go? To get on the F train, you just need a good NYC subway map, which you can get from your hotel. Take the F train into Brooklyn, to York Street. Come out onto York Street, hang a left and walk to Washington St (maybe a block or two). Hang a right and walk down the street another block or two and you will see the Manhattan Bridge in front of you and the Dunbar residence loft on the right, on the corner. It has red-framed doors and a UPS drop box right beside the doors. Keep going to the end of that block, which dead ends and turn left. You will see the Brooklyn Bridge Park right in front of you and to the right. At the end of that block is where Jim was sitting on a bench (no longer there) waiting for Christie at the end of Marlon's Brando. Just walk around the park and you should recognize the area where they were walking hand-in-hand. For Hester and Bowery, look at a street map of Manhattan, and you'll find them in Chinatown. They didn't actually film there, but it's still neat. Also Canal Street was mentioned in "In Your Face," and I walked it, but I don't think it intersects with Franklin, which is where the bar was where Jim went with Marty and Tom. Canal is a major street in mid- to lower Manhattan, and you can buy all kinds of (fake) brand-name handbags, watches, etc. That's about it for what I know about the B/J tour. Like I said, I don't know where the Brooklyn police precinct headquarters is that they used for the outside shots of the 8th, unfortunately. Oh, you probably already know this, but Tavern on the Green is EXPENSIVE. Whew. I recommend strolling through Central Park for the ambience then brunch at the Carnegie Deli on 7th Avenue - touristy but oh, so fun and yummy.

I am going with my sister to celebrate my 40th birthday! No kids, no hubby, just the two of us! Wahoo! It will be the first time I have left my kids, except to have more kids. We are arriving September 22nd and staying four days. We have tickets to see Wicked Friday night.
I seem to remember my NYC friend telling me to take the number trains and stay away from the letters. Does that sound right? So do you think brunch at Tavern on the Green is not worth the price? I want to spend my dollars wisely as NY is a very expensive city. My sister will just have to accompany my BJ tour, its my birthday celebration!
It would be so cool to meet some of this board's east coast members!

It depends on where you are going as to whether you take the numbers or the letters. Some run the same track, some are express.... Gooogle NYC tourism and see it they will send you a tourist package, that should include a subway map. And you'll want to get 1 fare card for both of you to use. Depending on how much you think you'll use the subway, I'd suggest start with a $20 one and add on if you find you need more fares. If you want to be a real tourist, head for Rockefeller Center -- there's a humongous food court in the subway station that is unbelievable and then you can go upstairs and wait for Al Roker to make fun of you during the Today show!

Lucy and I plan to be back in NYC in mid to late Sep. I like the idea of possibly meeting those who are in the area at that time. Later, Car

The music is just incredible. I saw Beauty and the Beast and The Producers while we were there - we got half-price tix from the TKTS booth in Times Square, and I was amazed at how great the seats were - close up orchestra, both times. If you are up for a second show, you may want to see what's available from TKTS when you get there. www.tdf.org/tkts/I don't know about Tavern on the Green - never been there. But I suspect that whether or not it's "worth" it is completely up to you! Depends on your perspective, I suppose. If you want to splurge on a NYC institution, this may be your place. I just wanted to mention the prices because a co-worker of mine recently went there and came back surprised at how large the final bill was! And I told you this in a PM, but will say it again here - I'm tied up the weekend you'll be there, so I won't be able to make it. But I know you're going to have a terrific time.
