... Farrell's? It was an ice cream restaurant. My family used to celebrate birthdays there. They had this huge ice cream dish called a "Zoo." It was tons and tons of ice cream with little plastic animals in it. I seem to remember them taking the animals out after a kid choked on one. They also had something called a "Pig's Trough" that was a double banana split. Whenever anyone finished one they would get a ribbon that said "I made a pig of myself at Farrell's." Shmeep, if I remember correctly there used to be one just off Ventura Blvd. Maybe at Tampa?

Reseda and Devonshire. I don't remember one on Ventura, but that was a little outside my neck of the woods in those days.
Farrell's was the place to go for birthday parties or just for a special treat. When my brother's parakeet, Hymei (should have been Jamie, but he preferred his own spelling), flew away, we were all so sad The Parents took us all to Farrell's to cheer us up--and they almost NEVER splurged like that, especially on a week night. I have a lot of fond memories of that place. I don't think I ever ate the Pig Trough, but I seem to remember someone in my family getting the prize.

There was one in Richmond, Va., at Regency Mall. I remember the Tin Roof Sundae.... oh boy!

Fizzies? Does anyone remember those fun things. Best if you popped-em in your mouth then drank the water. I remember a Ferrells in St. Louis and Indianapolis. best for their beef sub au jous.
Later Carl.
