Yes, it appears that on some days the wardrobe supervisor forgot his/her contacts. Those stripped tie/stripped shirt combos have got to go. In my humble opinion he definitely looks better in his casual "undercover" clothes. I would like to point out that your screencaps captured Frank Grillo making some very attractive faces, I'm sure he will enjoy perusing the pictures.
Also, I know I mentioned this on one of the other boards, but has anyone taken a close look at Marty's hair in Dance with Me? It looks like he has one side very closely shaven, and the other is a normal length, almost like his head was shaved for stitches or something. Every time I watch that episode, I wonder if it is some bizarre fashion statement or the head shaving was necessary.
May I take a moment to say that, in doing a Dogpile search to find a screencap of Marty's bad hair, I encountered pictures of an apparent porn star with the same name as our Mr. Grillo. I was to afraid to click on any of the images that came up to get a better look (I feared not only that I might go blind, but my computer could be overtaken by porn!), so I cannot say for sure. Very interesting... Oh, and I couldn't find a bad hair screencap.

After taking a pretty close look at Marty's wardrobe throughout the series, I have come to the conclusion that sometimes he looks really good (like in Doggone), sometimes his clothes are a bit bland, but fine, and sometimes someone seems to be seriously mad at him in the wardrobe department. And I'd really like to know how he was able to break into my dad's closet! i used to accuse my grandfather of looking like a quilt,, he would wear striped pants,, a flannel shirt,, and a checked shirt under it,, his response always was: " they're clean, they fit, and they're paid for",, what a sweetie he was,, i think before the janet jackson incident, if you looked up wardrobe malfunction in the dictionary, his picture would be there

I was just showing the range of his talent. Very animated guy, that Mr. Grillo. Since his clothes were so uninteresting and/or scary, I think he had to make up for it by treating us to a wide variety of faces. And they're all attractive! I wonder if there was something in the contract that said that no one was allowed to dress as well as Jim. You know, kind of like how it was in her contract that Ethel always had to weigh more than Lucy and be frumpier?

Not only that, but in one of the Marty pictures is a particularly atrocious shot of Tom's wardrobe. Ya know, one of the 2nd season episodes could have been the revelation that not only is Jim blind, but Tom is color blind.

Ya know, one of the 2nd season episodes could have been the revelation that not only is Jim blind, but Tom is color blind. I can just picture the emotional scene where Tom comes out and admits the truth. Everyone will be devastated. Jim will agree to take him under his wing and give him "independence training" to help him make better choices in clothing.

One thing I noticed in the Pilot is that our introduction to Marty is when Tom was kidding him about being "hygienically-challenged". Deodorant vs anti-perspirant and the underarm wetness problem!!! Gee, can the guy never get a break, Hee-Hee. And then later, in Rub ,when Jim says he knows him by his dandruff shampoo. Did the writers just get a kick out of kicking our favorite nasty boy?

Am I the only one who is convinced Marty must be singing karaoke in this picture? For some reason I always hear When a Man Loves a Woman by Percy Sledge when I look at it.

There: Huh. No wonder I couldn't find it. I have no idea why this rates as an atrocious wardrobe (or maybe you did mean an atrocious shot, but I don't get that, either). Kyt

My guess would be that it's Tom's tie. After lloking at it for a while, I think it looks like out of date Christmas tree decorations or some Christmas candy that has been around longer than than me.

Christmas tree decorations - heh. All I know is... tanks, tshirts, flannel, leather and bluejeans beat the snot out of a suit & tie combo. Kyt
