I thought I'd read where a least a couple of you watch this series. I didn't last through the first season given how corrupt Mackey (and squad) was. But they've brought Forest Whitaker in and I'm back to watching. I loooove Whitaker, and he's got the perfect role to yank my attention back to the series.
But really, I have a question. Didn't Mackey murder a cop in the first season? Am I remembering right?

Okay, so everyone here is clueless. May have to break down and actually search for the answer.

I did watch the first season, but can't remember what happened. He probably did kill someone -- I seem to remember the squad as amazingly corrupt, selling drugs, etc. After a while I lost interest, and other things were on Tuesdays at ten. Might start again just for Forest Whittaker, but I'm not a huge Michael Chiklis fan . . . so I probaby won't.
I'm not all that familiar with it, but maybe the "television without pity" site has a Shield board where you can get some answers?

The level of corruption was what turned my interest. I think Chiklis is good. Whitaker's playing this role with an annoying relish that's entertaining.
I may eventually track down a board and get the answer, but then again, may just hold out and see what Whitaker's character pinpoints on Mackey. I'm not in any rush.
Edit to add: I somehow missed the post with the link, thanks. Will have to go read and see what's being said.
