I don't know about anyone else but my screen name says it all. I still watch it alot and it never wears out for me. Although I did have to find the person on ebay I got mine from and get another set because I wore the first one out. I made backups of those and the originals are now safely tucked away in case they're needed. And people told me that you can't possibly wear out a DVD! Now I have proof! Me, I alternate viewing--sometime this episode, sometime that one--every other week or so. Of course, I have my favorites! Maggie--you mean we have something to look forward to? Yay!

Hey, hoosier, Chapter One of "Again" has been posted in the Maggie's Fic sub-board. But what I really need to know is this -- how many times can you watch a DVD before it wears out, and, as I said before, what does it then start to look like? bjo, I am counting on you for this information, or anyone else out there. I have no back-up DVDs and I'm scared to over-watch what I do have! Signed, Confused in Connecticut

I have no back-up DVDs and I'm scared to over-watch what I do have! I would really like to know this too. The whole reason I bought some of my DVD's is to replace the copies on VHS which were getting worn out! (like Memphis Belle and The House of Mirth) I had no idea DVD's could wear out. I'm guessing that means our CD's are in the same boat?

It seems like since they are relatively new, there is no proven answer. hometheater.about.com/cs/dvdlaserdisc/a/aadvdrota_2.htm

It just started freezing and skipping and no amount of cleaning the dvd or the player would solve the problem. How many times was it watched? Hard to know, but it did have one of my two favourite episodes on it so that could have had something to do with it too. (Can you guess what ep that might be, Maggie? The other is Doggone). I'm guessing I watched it at least 80-90 times maybe more. I can't say for sure. How many dvd's are you going to watch that often? And it's homemade so I don't really know how long they last. As for no back ups, you know where to find more, right?

Um...which one of the many different dvd sets should I put in the hope chest? oh, why don't I just put them all in and then we won't have to worry. Maybe we won't have to worry anyway cause we'll have the real thing.

That's good, but tapes wear out way more than dvd's. I know, but if I watch the tapes and not the DVD's I can always make new tapes whenever they wear out... Um...which one of the many different dvd sets should I put in the hope chest? oh, why don't I just put them all in and then we won't have to worry. Maybe we won't have to worry anyway cause we'll have the real thing. Of course we'll have the real thing.... But just in case we don't... Keep them all in the Hope Chest - Chris
