Kathy, those are just wonderful, both of them. I loooove tackling the serious stuff in limerick format (a new passion) and yes! where has our lovely boy-o gone to? Be it on your head, kathy. Here it is, and let me say, tentatively, that expressing exactly this opinion (Ballroom dancing? The last glimpse we have of Detective Jim Dunbar -- that beautiful, complicated, tortured man -- is ballroom dancing?) was what caused my banishment from the old Blind Justifications board last year. Note to self: Must launch that long-promised Write the Perfect Ending to Blind Justice Contest. All in fun, right? Ballroom dancing? Oh God, what a flop! How I wish Jim and Christie would stop. They twirled and they dipped -- Damn! It made him look whipped -- Instead of sharp grit we got sop. No Faux Astaire screencaps in our Photobucket account -- sorry! Then again, maybe the reason I so dislike FF is because I've only ever seen it (twice) on lousy videotape and no nice TiVo-generated DVDs and if that sounds like pathetic begging . . . it is.

Look what happens when I leave the board for a few hours. You people are going nuts with the limericks, and Kathy, you have gone from novice to expert in 24 hours. You just do not want to give up that hot pic of Ron? I love the one about "Where has he gone." Wouldn't we all love to know the answer to that. I did not get to answer the "person below me" about the friend on the board but I would just like to post that I too have met so many wonderful people who I now consider friends on this board, and one in particular, Kathy. It has made this last year or more so much fun to exchange emails, chat on the phone, and at least 6 times now, meet and have fun. We are so much alike and have so much in common, (besides Ron!) that we often kid that we are the same person. Maybe we are. Did you ever think that we may be just one person posting as two??? No I guess a few others have met us and can attest to the fact that there are two of us. So I am grateful to this board, and also to Ron, for bringing us all together. OK now I am going to go try to rhyme some words.......hhhmmmm what rhymes with mulligan? ?

I just want to say that I am touched. Since we do think and act like the same person at times, I can only say that everything Mary wrote here applies to the way I feel abour our friendship as well. I am so grateful for all that the Board has given us. If Ron only knew what he started!

Thanks, longlashes! Now I can put it all together: Ballroom dancing? Oh God, what a flop! How I wish Jim and Christie would stop. They twirled and they dipped -- Damn! It made him look whipped -- Instead of sharp grit we got sop.

Okay, just one quick one from The Pilot. I have to ration myself. Jim's back and emotions are raw. His being there sticks in Fisk's craw; Past deeds cut no ice. Though he tried to be nice, A "blind guy" was all The Boss saw.

I'm impressed with all you limerick writers out there. You even got Mags addicted! That's hilarious. I have never attempted a limerick because my poetic skills are limited at best, but this thread is going strong without me so I'll be content to view this one from the sidelines. You guys are great! Keep 'em coming!
Poor Shmeep said she couldn't do rhyme She knew she'd be wasting her time So she sat back and watched And the other's, they rocked! So Shmeep thought about taking up mime

Okay, Shmeep, that was very funny so now you have to keep going. Yesterday I went back through this thread and reread through all the limericks again -- I didn't want to repeat anything that had been done before -- and I just want to say that I am humbled. To rducasey and kathy and longlashes and mlm88 and anna (and anyone I may have missed ), my hat is off. You are all so creative and funny!!! Be back later . . .

Thanks again, rducasey, and will you come visit me in the poor house when I go bankrupt because I spend all my time writing Blind Justice limericks? I have more written about The Pilot, but I'm only giving them out one at a time . . . your turn! Though his motives the press may suspect . . .He just wants to "serve and protect." Arbitration was bitter But Dunbar's no quitter. If he ran for Mayor, we'd elect!

Maggie, you must be staying up nights. They are just flying off your keyboard. Love that one too. Especially these lines: Arbitration was bitter But Dunbar's no quitter.Loved it! OK, here's one. The Dunbars were in a bad mood When the dance lady tried to intrude. But they stood their ground- They refused and they frowned Till she realized she was being quite rude.

Aloysius was a cranky old nun, Who thought kids were not meant to have fun. The priest she did portray In a dark, malicious way. Though her final admission did us stun.

Oh brother, you two are keeping me on my toes! Karma to you both and kathy, you are absolutely on a Doubt-ful roll. (Dare you to rhyme Jena Malone in your next one. ) I'll be back after dinner. ;D MODIFIED TO ADD:Dinner, schminner. Here I go. Aaaaaah, The Pilot. Such an eternal source of inspiration. Maybe Marty just wanted some fun With his crack about beef and Jim's gun. As an excuse, it was dandy For some back view eye candy . . . As for who bested whom? Jim won.Okay, now I gotta go work on Christie and dinner from Hell.

Aaaaaah! This is a sickness. Stop me, someone, please . . . for the love of God, someone stop me before I limerick again! Longlashes, this one's for you. First case? Oh joy, it's Peke ashes And a client who instantly clashes. In Miss Chenowith's mind* No detective is blind . . .But she'd fold if she saw his eyelashes!* Now there's a concept.

Kathy, these Doubt ones are great. nun, fun and stun. I love it. And Maggie, you never stop. Don't you have work to do? Oh never mind, keep writing those limericks. They're great. Maybe you will find a new calling. I hear they are looking for a Poet Laureate for Connecticut.
