Lindy, well done on your poem. Your sentiment comes through loud and clear and sweet. I must admit, my DH once had a hat like that, we had snuck away on a wild weekend and he left the hat on a chair in the hotel room. While he was putting my case in the car I pulled my coat off the chair, his hat hit the floor and I watched it sail under the bed and out of sight... ;D And here is a piccy of our blonde dude to upgrade the last image in my head. "Oh, no! They posted THAT picture again?" "So Maura, tell me what you really think of the hat... " "Oh, okay."

There’s this guy that we love, Who as cool as they come, Who keeps us all coming back.
He’s the cat in the hat, Outside the Walter Kerr, Signing autographs and all that.
I ‘ll take this guy Any way I can I’ll take him in a hat, I’ll take him with a bat, I’ll take him with a bag, I’ll take him with a flag, I’ll wait on a log, In the New York fog, Whether he keeps his head warm, He still turns on the charm, And that’s okay with me.
I met him that night, Though some think it’s a fright, That hat that was covering his head, His smile came through, Though his words were few, He was still quite the sight.
I’ll never forget how it made me feel To meet him there that night, I may never get to repeat it again, So I’ll say it loud and clear…. I’ll take him any way I can.
I’ll take him in a play, I’ll take him today, In a movie or TV, The cat in the hat Is totally cool And I’ll take him ANY WAY!
Lindy - Karma to you for this! It is absolutely true! And how lucky were you (and the others on the board) to have actually seen him on stage and in person; as there were many who weren't able to get to NYC to do that. It doesn't matter what he was wearing. I wil admit, though, that on March 11 when we were waiting for him to walk out that stage door - I did say a little prayer that it would not be THAT hat. Sorry, but it is true.

Sorry, but it is true. I also remember your theory about the hat at the time Kathy. That was when they were all sick with fever at the opening of the play. You thought perhaps he had mistakenly grabbed the Dame's hat. I love your poem too Lindy. He truely is the "cat in the hat".

That's funny! Here is one more take on this...when you can't beat um...you join them! Hey Karen, what do you think of my hat? Christie bought it for me at a trunk show... Um...I have to say, Jim it's not working for you.... What are you saying, I look slouchy? Yeah, it looks like your grandma's! Whew.....I guess I better let Christie know...... Christie, the squad said I can't wear the hat anymore.... Look Jim, It's either me or the hat....get it?

Time to restock that stash as we are obviously getting much enjoyment from your drawings - I am amazed at the talent of our drawing artists. Oh, to be able to take some lines and make them look like that!
