Big news here in Canada, the number one story right now--huge nationwide recall of meat going on. There have been several deaths, six I think, six more deaths that are likely it but not yet proven, and dozens of people sick.
Maple Leaf foods in Toronto has been shut down for disinfecting. Processed deli meats from their plant were sent all over the country, and to commercial facilities, rest homes, put into sandwiches, etc., as well as sold in stores.
The bacteria has an incubation period of several months, so lots more could still get sick or die.
The recall cost is estimated at 20 million and climbing.
For more, just google listeriosis canada in the news tab of google to see lots.

Scary. We have a salmonella epidemic goin on, so far 600 have been reported sick with salmonella poison and as many as 6,000 may have been infected. Problem is, they haven't found the source of the infections yet so no extra precautions taken yet. - Chris

Our deaths are up to 15 now, and lawsuits have been launched in most provinces.
