Did anyone else catch the premiere of Caprica yesterday evening? I did not have high expectations; sequels and prequels often disappoint. I was not disappointed. I thought it was quite well-done and, in its best moments, did what the Battlestar Galactica re-make did in its best moments -- challenge our preconceived notions. You do not need to have watched BSG to understand what's going on in this series. It has a different set of characters and takes place about 60 years before the BSG series. I recommend it.
Yes, inuvik, Eric Stoltz was very good in it!

I bought the dvd thinking it had already been aired  Since we don't have cable, I thought this is one way I could see it. There is a lot going on and from so many different angles. I've only seen a few episodes of the revamped series. We watched the original when we were kids and I don't remember it saying exactly how the Cylons came about, but this explanation sure was unique. And yes, Eric Stolz was very good! |

And yes, Eric Stolz was very good! I don't have cable, so I'm not able to watch this series. But I made a purchase request at our library for the initial movie of Caprica. They did buy it and I watched it a few months ago. Eric was great! But it is not really my thing. If I had SciFi (or is it Sy Fi now?), I might watch it, but it's hard to say. What I really enjoyed was our local Friday entertainment magazine. Clive's movie, The Boys are Back (his absolute best work, BTW, I encourage everyone to see this very moving drama!) comes out on DVD Tuesday. The magazine highlights new releases and TV shows, but usually only one photo is picked from each. So, what do you know--there was a photo of Eric for Caprica and a photo of Clive for TBAB--heaven! |

Caprica will return sooner than originally planned.  It will be back on Tuesday, October 5, at 10 p.m. Eastern and Pacific on SyFy.
