I feel so very bad for NY and NJ in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. The NJ shore is devastated, and of course NY especially down "in the Eighth Precinct" is dealing with terrible damage, from the flooding and the fires. Kathy in PA is still out of power, but otherwise safe and her home was not harmed. Here is RI our coastline took a lot of damage but we fared well compared to NY and NJ by not getting a direct hit, but the storm surge from the inward push of water was quite damaging. But otherwise we are all safe as are our homes. Pray for those who lost so much.

Glad you guys are both safe. The pictures on the news are terrible. Praying that everyone will stay safe in the clean up and watch out for each other.

Yes, glad to hear you are all right, I had been worried. The power of Mother Nature can be awe inspiring to say the least. Hopefully they will begin to get things sorted out and get necessities to those who desperately need them.

My heart goes out to the people who have lost everything, and especially to those who have lost loved ones in this storm. The scope of the destruction is quite overwhelming. I checked in with Jane (maggiethecat) yesterday. She was without power for several days (didn't get it back until yesterday) but is otherwise OK.
Good to know you and Kathy are OK, rducasey. From what I saw on the Weather Channel, it looked as if RI got hit pretty hard.
