"I need a lover who won't drive me crazy."
At first, one would say, how cheesy! Then, after a couple repeats of the chorus, you realize, well, that's very very true. Of all the characteristics wanted in a gf/bf/spouse/lover, number one must be someone who won't drive you crazy!
--GB (look, look, the frog is back!)
Modified because: I forgot to add: the Song is: "I Need a Lover" written by John Cougar Mellancamp

After that line comes the chorus again and the next line is "some girl who knows the meaning of hey hit the highway."

If I remember correctly, isn't the next line, "some girl who'll thrill me then go away"? After that line comes the chorus again and the next line is "some girl who knows the meaning of hey hit the highway." I had to look up the entire song, as I've only heard it a couple times, and that line is the only one that stuck with me. On that level, the only profundity in the song is the fact that some men are pigs. Apologies to Miss P, no connection! But the single line quoted has much meaning. --GB

As many times as I've heard this song over the years, it was last week before I actually listened. I guess that's what happens when you learn the words when you're four! ;D "Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout" "Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see It's getting hard to be someone" I'll let you Name That Tune. --GB

Here are some lyrics that I like:
"I got soul but I'm not a soldier." The Killers "Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down." Paul Simon "Some things in life you cannot measure by degrees." Michael Penn "I'm not dumb but I can't understand why she walked like a woman and talked like a man." The Kinks "You don't know how lovely you are." Coldplay
and from The Who:
"Meet the new boss, same as the old boss." (Won't Get Fooled Again) "I'm singing this note cause it fits in well with the way I'm feeling." (Gettin in Tune) "...when she catches up to me won't be no time to explain." My Wife

I don't know if they are profound, but these are some of the most tender lyrics I have ever heard! BJO and LL, I'm sure you know this song, for good or bad...
The song is very famous, people kind of make fun of it in a very eye-rolling way here in Canada. However, I like it. It's a real tear-jerker.
The chorus of "Sometimes When We Touch", by Canada's own Dan Hill.
And sometimes when we touch The honesty's too much and I have to close my eyes and hide I wanna hold you till I die Till we both break down and cry I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides.

I absolutely love Josh Groban's new song You Are Loved--and Lori's video of course. I've watched it over and over since downloading it. I find the song very touching and so true. Everyone wants to be heard, understood, loved, guided, found, and have friends who will be there to help them get through the hard times.
You Are Loved (Don't Give Up)
Don't give up It's just the weight of the world When you're heart's heavy I...I will lift it for you
Everybody wants to be understood Well I can hear you Everybody wants to be loved Don't give up Because you are loved

O Radiant Dawn What sorcery within a night has made a city street into a fairy glade?
Not Blind Justice, but it is catchy.
Also, it sure is not a song either.
Found it on the Today in History US Gov Site. About the 19th turn of the century Christmas.
Didn't know where else to post it.
Back to the regularly-scheduled Thread.
Later, Carl
