I know Maggie is supposed to be a psycho . . . Hey! Watch your language. Janet was much stronger last season -- she got so fed up with Tommy she took the kids and headed to a new life in Ohio -- but a lot of the starch went out of her, I think, when her son was killed and that seemed to me the right place to take the character. Sheila I love because Callie Thorne has great comic timing, and there's something kind of endearing about the messes she gets herself into. I actually liked her pre-fire meltdown, when she was ramming around the living room chastizing herself for being such a clueless, love-deluded fool. I do agree that this show can be uneven. But when they get it right? Oh, baby.

Come on, come on and rescue me, Denis Leary . . . . . . from reruns of shows that stank the first time around and a summer season that apparently consists of yet one more crappy reality show. I am so-o-o-o-o-o ready. Will Tommy escape from the burning beach house? Will Sheila? Did she remember to send in the insurance premium or will all her "widow money" literally go up in smoke? Will Sean and Maggie's marriage last longer than a three-minute egg? Will Lou/Kenny get his act together this season? Aaaaaaah, life begins again. ;D Meet you all here tomorrow morning for the rehash.

Is there Season 4 of Rescue Me does anyone know?
Love it, uneven maybe but real. Those boys remind me of the ones I grew up with.
Please, help me with good news. And I suppose even if it's bad ...

Hey, we all agree Denis Leary is sexy -- he's the ultimate example of the guy your mother never wanted you to date -- so can we move on and talk about last night's show? Which was one of their best, I think, since it left you with more questions than answers. The writing on that show is just amazing -- funny as Hell and touching and real all at the same time -- but have they written themselves into a corner? After the stunning last moments, I guess we can assume that only Tommy knows Sheila is alive . . . but how is this going to work? If she shows her face to keep him from going to jail for insurance fraud, well, that pretty much cements the case for insurance fraud. Does Damian know she's alive or is she letting her son think she's dead? How can they be going after the money from her life insurance policy when . . . um . . . there was no body in the beach house. Is Tommy really planning to waltz off into the sunset with Sheila and the $2 million and ditch his family and his new baby? Like I said, more questions than answers and I can't wait for next week.

I hope there'll be a Friday repeat.

So Barb, what do you think about Denis Leary ;D - Chris I think Denis Leary is sexy! ;D OK I have to admit I don't even know who Denis Leary is and considering what happened to me when I found RE, I am not going to stumble on another one. One is enough even if he is a hermit.

Is Tommy really planning to waltz off into the sunset with Sheila and the $2 million and ditch his family and his new baby? Like I said, more questions than answers and I can't wait for next week. I am so confused. Sheila's statement at the very end implies some kind of a plan, which she's telling Tommy not to screw up. But I remember the last episode from last season, and that fire definitely didn't seem planned to me. I suppose they could have come up with some kind of a plan since then, but I have no idea what it could be. In addition, my first reaction to Sheila's statement was, "Has she grown a brain since last season?" If there is a plan, and Sheila's the mastermind, I think we should be very worried for Tommy. Besides, if Sheila's supposed to be dead, and the cops think the fire was arson, Tommy's on the hook for a lot more than insurance fraud. How much time is supposed to have passed since the previous episode? Who was the guy in the elevator with Tommy at the end? Was he real or a figment of Tommy's imagination? The scene with Franco and Richie was priceless. Not to mention the "moral compass" line. And of course Tommy is going to have a sleazy lawyer. . . .

I'm so glad it's back!
Yes, the Sheila stuff is confusing. I hope it's cleared up next week. I didn't know if Tommy knew about her being alive or not. I doubt it was a plan all along, since it didn't seem intentional at the time. But...all that talk about the insurance policies makes me wonder...
The guy in the elevator is one of Tommy's "ghosts." It's his cousin, Jimmy, who died on 9/11 and was Sheila's husband. As for the lawyer...that's another one of the Gavin cousins, but I don't remember his name.
