Is anyone else enjoying this show? I thought the Pilot was terrific -- fast, gritty, sharp writing, great "look" -- and the next few episodes as well . . . but ABC is already playing games. Scheduled Saturday reruns have been replaced with Lost reruns, and last night Invasion aired in its time slot.
Anyone out there know if it's already a goner?

I hope it's not a goner!
This is a pretty good show, what with Martin Landau, Orlando Jones (in a great deadpan performance) and Rob Estes. And plenty of angst in the background as Rob tried surreptitiously to solve his wife's murder.
Maybe it will come back after Invasion's cliffhanger at the end of May sweeps. (Now where have I heard that refrain before?)

It doesn't look good. According to The Futon Critic, it was put on hiatus after the April 12 episode and there is no date set to air the remaining two episodes. There were only six episodes to begin with and apparently The Evidence did not do at all well in the ratings.
ABC messed up on the official website for The Evidence. The next episode listed on that page was, in fact, an episode description for Invasion. That's not a good sign.
If it is a good show, I think it's another case of ABC screwing up the marketing. I saw millions of commercials for it and none of them made the show seem the least bit appealing to me so I never bothered to watch.

The commercials weren't great -- they focussed on the "gimmick," which was that the viewer and the cops were presented with the evidence up front, and then basically went on the same journey to solve the crime. But guess what? The show was basically character-driven and not all that much about the cases. The lead character, played by Rob Estes, was back on the job after a year of medical leave -- a nervous breakdown after trying to solve his wife's murder single-handed -- and so his co-workers were suspicious of his abilities. (Where have I heard that before?) And with Gary Fleder as producer and director, it was stylish and sharp. What have we learned, class? ABC fields its most quirky and unusual shows mid-season, and then blows the rating game with their uninspired marketing. This is getting old.
