Just reading in the paper that Mandy Patinkin is quitting CBS's Criminal Minds over artistic differences. They need to replace a lead actor. Would someone please call Ron's agent. Thanks.

Wonder what the problems are and how they will explain his leaving? His character has another meltdown and has to return to therapy? Over on the NCIS set it was rumored that Mark Harmon was threatening to walk out over problems with the creator/producer of the show. In that case, the producer stepped back.
Hmmm. It would be interesting to see RE butting heads with Dharma's husband who is always so dour and gloom and doom. Plus, I could see him giving Garcia a run for the money. ;D

Would someone please call Ron's agent. Thanks. You sure about that??? If they replace the lead actor doesn't that usually mean that the show gets cancelled after one or two seasons??? (Except for ER, of course, that show seems to be able to carry on no matter what happens...) I would love to see RE in another show but preferably in one that is not doomed before he is even in it..... - Chris

Sometimes it just takes the right casting to pull a show out of the doldrums, though Criminal Minds is not in that category--I think. And the more I think about it, wouldn't RE be great as a brilliant and charming yet sarcastic behavioral specialist (can't have him too perfect, you know. ) who not only is great at deduction but isn't afraid to actually chase down the bad guy?
