At Maggie's suggestion, to keep the "general" television discussion for those purposes only, here's a Moonlight thread for those of us who watch, enjoy and wish to comment!

I am also a fan of Moonlight. Would it be a revamping (oh, bad pun! ) of Forever Knight? Hardly. Mick, what more can I say And the other characters--Beth, Joseph (absolutely love the banter between him and Mick), Coraline, the cleaning crew, the coroner's assistance (perfect job for a vampire I guess) etc. all add something special to the mix. Where some people have come up with the idea that Mick has been stalking Beth all these years is beyond me! I never got that impression. The only other new show that I try not to miss is Pushing Daisies. No Josef tonite - and I missed the usual banter - but 12:04 a.m. is another great example of why this show has reeled me in and kept me loyal, apart from the shallow obvious, I mean. Beth now knows for sure who saved her all those years ago and what price he paid to do so...and we now know, as if somehow we didn't know it already, that the human spirit still runs deep in Mick....it seems we have a vampire torn by matters of the heart. The chemistry between Mick and Beth and the emotion displayed by both of them at the end of this one was absolutely stunning.

I loved how Beth moved to place herself between Mick and the rising sun. No words were necessary to show how much she truly cares for him.
You can understand Mick's heartbreak. How could he allow himself to fall in love with someone and then watch them age while he remains the same? How many people has he already had to say goodbye to? The only way they could always be together is if he would turn her and even if she would want him to, how could he when he hates his own existence?
But you know all will not go smoothly for our couple.
Hey, I've reached 3000 posts! Wow!

Congratulations on that milestone Hoosier and a karma to go along with it! Here's what I think is some great news for we vampire smitten Friday nighters - Moonlight viewers 8.22 million (#2) ~ A18-49: 2.7/ 8 (#1)Moonlight won the demo again - that makes 7 out of 8 airings that the show has taken the number one spot in the most coveted of demographics - 18 to 49. Women's Murder Club had more viewers overall - 8.9 million to 8.22 million - but Moonlight has seen a significant increase in its viewing audience. Now, if we are fortunate enough to have the writer's strike end soon, perhaps CBS will place that full season order after all? Looks like Moonlight might just be a keeper! And here's the golden moment of Friday night's episode - even in screencaps, the emotion is there:

hmmmm......I see new material for videos....hint hint. And Karma for the screencaps. Well, there certainly won't be as much interest in this one, but here is my first Moonlight video, set to the music of Eric Carmen. This is Born to Love You, a tribute to the intimate connection that joins Mick and Beth, a connection that was made longer ago than she knows, a connection for the ages. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFGF18rOnu4

I am happy to see you say that this is your "first" moonlight video, as that implies there are more to come!

And OK you convinced me, I will start to watch this. I only saw part of one show and frankly "didn't get it"...he's a detective who's a vampire? and they said a blind detective was absurd. I guess it is getting some good reviews so I will give it a try. But back to you video, that was wonderful, what a great song too.

Thanks for the video feedback - another fun one to make - and some really good material to work with. I am looking for additional music to showcase the strengths of this show as there is so much more that can be done.
The news on Friday night wasn't quite as good as the previous two weeks - down some in the ratings and the second time that Moonlight has lost the demographic - but we're still hanging in there at number two in the 9:00 time slot.
And those who didn't tune in missed what I think was the most entertaining episode to date - some very funny, lighthearted moments (its been awhile since I've seen a band of dancing Hari Chrisnas running interference or a reference to Michael Jordan's air used quite like that), tension and angst (emphasized by some incredible camera work), a solid plotline that finally showcased some of Mick's abilities as a P.I., and a cliff hanger ending that left the fans of Moonlight anticipating its return -- in three long weeks.
There is no comparison between Moonlight and Blind Justice as far as substance - for one thing they are completely different genres - but there is a similarity in the wanting to take the journey with the main character. Mick St. John is another wounded soul who is trying to find his way in an altered reality, who longs to return to the way things were before, and who struggles to find acceptance with the way things are now.
If CBS listens to its viewers and grants our wishes, that journey will continue.

Three weeks...a lifetime in tv land! This was such an excellent episode. Mick/Beth/Morgan-Coraline. Beth finding Coraline's old home-- uninhabited but still with all the furniture intact--and taking a piece of that furniture to use as a stake. Beth and Josef's little tet-a-tet (I just love this guy!) Then the revelation that Morgan is Coraline but somehow is now human! How? Will she survive? Will Mick turn against Beth? Will Mick and his fellow vamps somehow be able to reclaim their lost humanity? Will some chose not to? Three weeks!!! Argh! The video perfectly captures what for me is the theme of the show. Wonderful!

Read today that Channel 9 in Australia is going to start airing Moonlight. Your bad boy is heading home - at least on cable TV. (Lead actor Alex O'Loughlin is from down under - even though he has the "American" accent down pat, every once in a while, you can definitely hear the Aussie slip in! )
