A certain former girlfriend and co-star of our favorite blond dude debuts a new series tonight on FOX.
I wasn't planning on watching "Canterbury's Law". I don't need to start a new series. But then I read a review that it was really well done, even if they do a Hillary and throw everything in but the kitchen sink into the Pilot. And then I read that it's created by another cool blond dude, Denis Leary. And the pilot is directed by movie director Mike Figgis. And Aidan Quinn (hey Mr. Blue Eyes!) plays her husband. Sigh. Guess I'll be watching.
But, the Washington Post review mentions that it goes overboard with the extreme closeups, like it's meant to be watched on a cell phone. Oh joy.
But I still watch and, even more importantly, enjoy "House", and this has been described as "House" for the law profession. Well, ok. We'll see. Hugh Laurie she's not.
Anybody else planning to watch Ron's ex?

Hey, Doobrah! Well . . . I never thought she was the world's greatest actress, even on ER, but the Denis Leary connection may get me there. Not to mention Aiden Quinn. Yeah, I'll give it a shot. ;D

I didn't know anything about it but I think I'll give it a shot. I really like House although I can't imagine another show being like that and doing it so well. I will watch tonight and we'll see. Thanks for the info.

I have it set to Tivo, but I'm not sure it'll be my kind of show. I'm not really into watching the law shows.
I came across a not-so-favorable review of Canterbury's Law recently. I think it said that Julianna's character was always angry (or something like that), but I'm not one to be swayed by reviews. I'll definitely give it a shot.

I like some legal shows, but not all. I am curious about this one, but there are so many other things on at the same time that I really don't think I can see it. Little People, Big World, How I Met Your Mother, and...tonight...The Bachelor. I know. It's a sickness. But my husband and I have never missed a Bachelor so we must know "where they are now" at once!

Ok - so I watched, and promptly fell asleep during the 8:30 commercial break. But I howled during the scene of her in a dance class with her husband, played by Aidan Quinn. Dance class? C'mon, not that old plot device again.
It seemed to be a pretty good show -- I'll have to catch what I missed on hulu.

I was watching something else and recorded it, but I turned in the commercials. Aidan Quinn has aged! I could not believe it. I miss his piercing blue eyes. Isn't it funny how everyone ages but me.

I finally watched the episode last night and liked it enough to leave it on the Tivo Season Pass. Ms. Canterbury's got quote the temper, doesn't she? I'm looking forward to the next few episodes where they'll explain what happened to her son.

It looks like Canterbury's Law is now on Friday nights:
Looks like the verdict is in on Canterbury's Law. Sources confirm to TVGuide.com that after two low-rated outings on Monday night, Fox is banishing the Julianna Margulies-led courtroom drama to Friday nights, beginning March 28.

Oh dear. I have to say I'm not all that surprised. Julianna Margulies looks tired and coarse (she should smack whoever's doing the cinematography), the divine Aiden Quinn is wasted, and the writing is . . . well . . . nothing to write home about. Me? I'm looking forward to the new Steven Bochco legal drahmah on TNT with Gloria Ruben, the name of which escapes me. And bump? Your "winter in Florida" avatar puts me in mind of the late, great Travis McGee mysteries penned by the late, great John D. MacDonald. As Carl Hiassen wrote when they were re-released in paperback a few years back (sorry for the paraphrasing), "If The Busted Flush is not in slip f-18 at the Bahia Mar marina in Fort Lauderdale . . . I don't want to know." Sorry to digress. I'll start a new literary thread if anyone else has read the books. Back to the topic at hand. As I said, I'm not surprised at the fateof Canterbury's Law. After ten minutes of the Pilot I took refuge in a classic L & O rerun, which I knew was well acted and well written. ;D

The paper here had a big list of cancellations. Apparently this season had some of the most ever!
Unfortunately, this is cancelled.
