I know I've asked this before, but I'll ask again anyway: isn't anyone else here watching Battlestar Galactica? The fourth and final season begins this Friday on the Sci-Fi Channel. If you haven't watched it yet and think there's simply too much to catch up on, think again. There's a complete summary at Salon.com. It really doesn't do the show justice, but it does summarize most of the major plot points and gives a good explanation of who's who. This article, also from Salon.com, gives a little more flavor of what the show's really all about: There's a reason it won a Peabody Award. Seriously, folks, it's the best thing on television right now. Or it will be, as of Friday.

They have a few things that I didn't like, but I plan on watching the last season. I'm more interested in the spin off. EGW

I had heard about the "prequel." Now that ES is in it, you'll be watching, right? I haven't been posting here, because I have a feeling I'd be talking to myself. But for the record, last Friday's episode was simply amazing.

I don't have cable so I haven't been able to watch any of BSG except some of season one that they ran on a local station over the summer. My sister absolutely hated it but I thought it was good. Different, but good. Starbuck a woman! Now that did take some getting used to! When I see the original I can't help comparing the two and, sorry sis, the new one is definitely more entertaining.

I totally agree - the present-day BSG is much better than the original. By the way, you can watch recent episodes online here.

Battlestar Galactica is back! ;D The season premiere is tonight at 10 Eastern/Pacific and, by all accounts, well worth the wait.

To change the subject -- mlm, have you caught this week's issue of The New Yorker? There's a column about a Battlestar Galactica reunion in NYC with Mary MacDonough and Edward James Olmos in attendance. The New Yorker loved the show . . . as did you. Yes, I found a link to the article after reading your post. Thanks! BSG has now finished its run -- and a great one it was. The final episode did not disappoint, except possibly for the last few minutes. I'm still not sure about them. I won't say more, in case those here who missed it (you know who you are, shmeep! ) watch it on DVD. In fact, the show was so special, I may just have to invest in the DVDs myself, to catch all the things I'm sure I missed on the first watching.
