There are so many wonderful scenes from Blind Justice and I am inclined to agree with all these choices. Although short, there is one scene that without question, moves me more than any other; I can't really explain why, except to say that it embodies so much, hurt, tenderness, love, anger; it's there in the look on his face and its there in the way he so gently places his hand on that little head. So much is spoken without the need for speech - absolutely beautifully acted. Hm without doubt - great acting.

Hey everyone,
Just found this site the other day through a link in Shades of Blue, it makes for very absorbing reading, been on her for an average of 4-5 hours a night for the last two or three nights.
I would have to say that the scene which appeals to me the most is the opening scene of Doggone where Jim is in the bathroom shaving. Not even really sure I can explain why it touches me so deeply, it's just a normal every day occurrence, but every time I see it I just go all gooey.
Ron would have to be my ultimate drop dead gorgeous blonde guy, not to mention one of THE best actors I have ever come across.

Hey welcome bjfan, glad you found us. I think my favorite scene is in the pilot when Jim maps out the squad. Seeing the concentration and determination on his face, feeling the lockers and coffee maker, and counting the steps and then having it all pay off later that day when he walks to Fisk's office to the disbelief of the rest of the squad. Love it. Tough to actually pick a favorite scene though, since I guess the speedbag also ranks way up there in favorites.

And may I add my welcome to bjfan4eva! I've enjoyed both your posts, and please keep em' coming. I'm glad to know you're enjoying this board, and catching up on some of the wonderful in-depth (an opinionated!) discussions in the episode analysis threads. Favorite scene? That really is a tough one, but after all this time and repeated viewings, I would say that the one scene that still gives me the most pleasure is Jim and Karen on the street at the end of The Pilot. It's beautifully played, the writing is sharp and informatives, and it's a wonderful blend of sensitivity and humor. And the image of Jim and Hank walking away through the flock of birds is sheer perfection. As is the quietly satisfied smile on Jim's face . . . a lovely moment. Or . . . Jim and Terry by the river in "Up on the Roof." It really is tough to pick just one.

Is it any wonder why we love this show? Is it any wonder that we love this man? Every scene mentioned is so beautifullly acted. It is so hard to pick one scene.

The scene in the locker room in FF when he puts his gun at the back of the locker. Love it.

I know I mentioned this before, but I just keep coming back to it all . . . day . . . long. So for me it's either the first interview with Fisk (the emotional content in that scene is just so damned right), or the last scene of The Pilot, on the street with Karen -- maybe because the humor is lovely, and we got to see a genuine sweetness in Dunbar for the first time. Yeah, that's the one for me. I have a serious case of PAD, folks: Pilot Adiction Disorder.

I just reread my original answer--the scene with Pete where Pete cries and they talk about suicide--and I'm going to have to change it.
It's now the one near the end of Doggone. The vignettes where Jim is waiting for Hank and can't sleep. Very tear-jerking, literally!
Second would be Pete and third would be Jim at the water cooler. I really love the water cooler, but it is very short and jerky. The cry factor just wasn't there for me, but it was with the waiting for Hank. (I watched this last night).
Just wait, tonite I am watching Dance With Me, and I bet I'll switch back to Pete! (just kidding).

I also went back to see if I still agreed with my original response and I did ;D My favorite scene is Jim on the park bench at the end of Four Feet Under. You ache for him, not only because it seems that Christie has walked out on him but for what he is going through, trying to make it all work while remembering the little things (seeing the trees) he has lost.
A second favorite? The scene with Terry in the hospital where, as Jim turns away, his smile disappears. I always imagine what he went through just to be able to walk into that room and confront his ex-partner without losing it.
