I just watched an episode of NCIS with the lovely Mr. Eastman playing a psychiatrist whose office was very similar to Dr. Galloway's office, except for two of the armchairs that were replaced with a couch. - Chris

This actually has nothing to do with a guest star role but did anyone notice that BJ was a question in this week's TV Guide crossword puzzle? The clue was ---- Sofer of Blind Justice. Anyone care to hazzard a guess?

"Randy Lyman" was on Lost tonight, playing Kate's lawyer in a "flash forward" or alternate time line or time warp or whatever the hell it is.

I certainly did not recognize him--cleans up well, doesn't he! As an aside, I am loving this season of Lost. I confess I felt a tad lost myself last season but this one has made up for it. One more "Oceanic 6" waiting to be revealed...

I noticed Joel Stoffer ("Rory Glann" from "Doggone") in a cable TV commercial this morning.

Smarmy Clay (Patrick Fabian) played an obnoxious officer on NCIS recently. Once again he did obnoxious very well - let's hope he's not like that in real life... - Chris

"Don Yun" was on NCIS Tuesday and last night "Jeff Dorsey" was on Criminal Minds. Next week on NCIS they have a dog that looks suspiciously like Hank.

Sonny Marinelli (Terry Jansen) was on last night's episode of ER, playing - you guessed it - a Chicago police detective.

This isn't a BJ guest star, but a Doubt guest star: Masterpiece Theatre's stars Dame Eileen Atkins in the first episode of "Cranford" that aired last Sunday, and she is excellent. I just caught up with it on streaming video on the PBS Web site. She just won a BAFTA (Britain's equivalent to the Oscars & Emmys) for her role. If you want to stream it, it is available at: www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/cranford/watch.htmlJust click where it says "watch." (Don't know if this is available in countries other than the U.S.) I doubt that she will be in successive episodes, but she is excellent in this!

Michael Gaston was on ER this week, playing a U.S. Marshal. Nice to see him getting work post-Jericho.

Michael Gaston was on ER this week, playing a U.S. Marshal. Nice to see him getting work post- Jericho. Too bad the ambulance he climbed into with his prisoner, Steve Buscemi (Let's all do our best Fargo imitations: "He was a funny-lookin' little guy.") exploded at the end of the hour . . . so much for a recurring role. Hey, mlm, did you notice how TALL he is? Just as in BJ, he pretty much dwarfed the other actors.

I just tried and it says they only have rights to stream in the US. Too bad, but at least they say that and don't leave you wondering.

Oh, well, it was never going to be a recurring role anyway. And, yes, he's one big dude. Shawn Doyle ("Randy Lyman") turned up on Numb3rs last night, playing an IRA gun-runner masquerading as a Pakistani. It was actually a rather good episode about the conflict between free exchange of scientific knowledge and post-9/11 paranoia.

I recently purchased the dvd of season one of The Equalizer starring Edward Woodward. With absolutely nothing worth watching these days, I couldn't wait to pop it in last night. I noticed several places that looked very familiar, including the Dunbar domicile. The places zipped by pretty fast (it was a car chase scene of course but over the Brooklyn Bridge? Of all places?) but I swear I saw it! If not must have been its twin. And I also wondered if Woodward's Robert McCall influenced Garner's Jack Bristow of Alias. They seem like two peas in the pod or separated at birth or whatever.
