May 7, 2006 May 6, 2006 A special thanks to Kenina for her great directions for our walking tour. I tried to time the pigeons taking off for the shot of Kathy in front of the Fuzhou but it did not work out. Walking over the Brooklyn Bridge was the best. And the area where the Dunbars lived is called DUMBO, we learned from Barbara. Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. Signs in the area even said 'welcome to Dumbo'. cute. The walk in the park was great too, but the bench is not there. Christie's bench. The black gateway across from the front of their building is the entrance to Brooklyn Bridge Park where they walked. The bridge however that you see is the Manhattan Bridge, just a little north of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Soho -South of Houston Noho-North of Houston Tribeca- Triangle below Canal See what a quick study I am. Oh and before I forget, Ron directed us to his favorite Pizza Place right in Dumbo (Do you think Jim and Christie ever ate there?) Grimaldi's I believe. He told us that it "has the best pizza on the planet." Hope I got that name right, Barb. And since we have more money left on our Metro Pass, I think we have to come back and go there. I'm ready to move to DUMBO, and as we learned one of the higher rent districts.

I was shocked when Ron told me the reasons why they changed the name - it's been around forever and, as he said, is the BEST pizza in NY. We both remember it as Patsy's in Brooklyn.

That was SUCH a fun day, finding all those places, as Becky, longlashes and jimi can attest. And you made it to Henry Street -- I'm jealous!! I wish we had remembered that one. Next time, next time. I'd love to have a shot just like yours.

I have to add to Mary's thanks to you for your narrative of your walking tour. As you know, we used it in March to find Terry's bench and this weekend to help us plan our "tour". We would never have found the Fuzhou Market without the address you provided. It was really fun to actually see that the place exists! And we loved seeing the precinct even though they would not let us in to re-visit the holding cell where all of the Board Serial Killers have at one time or another carved their initials. Actually - it looked like a pretty quiet place now that I think of it!

How about a new thread with pictures of the incredibly gorgeous Sydney harbor, the incredibly gorgeous Blue Mountains, the incredibly gorgeous Ayers Rock . . . . I know we'd all like to share a taste of where you live -- especially since it's a lot easier for most of us to get to New York City than Down Under! Mags

Reading the posts here and in the Doubt thread has definitely gotten me excited about my own NYC trip, coming up next week!
I probably won't be able to do the "Blind Justice Walking Tour," because I will be catching up with some old friends while in the City. But I am absolutely going to see Doubt next Thursday evening. I do have one question: how does the hanging out at the stage door bit work? (I've never done anything like that).

I do have one question: how does the hanging out at the stage door bit work? (I've never done anything like that). All you do is go wait right outside the door. You can't miss it. It's gold I think and there will be other people hanging around too. If you stand in front of the theatre facing it, the door is on the left. The blonde dude along with everyone else eventually comes out. ;D You'll have an awesome time.
