This is a great thread and I love what everyone has said about the wardrobe - but what about hair and makeup? Let's start with hair - Jim's trendy cut and glistening highlights - WOW!
It doesn't look like Christie has seen the inside of a salon in months!

Jim even wakes up with great hair- no "bed head" he. Doobrah's avatar is proof of that. Is that from the wake up scene in In Your Face? Who wakes up that pretty? No wonder Christy had to peak under those covers.

No wonder Christy had to peak under those covers. It's from the wake-up--or perhaps the can't sleep--scene in the middle of Marlon's Brando just before Jim figures out that the slashes from the victims form a swastika. Wait a minute! There's no wake-up scene in In Your face!

This is a great thread and I love what everyone has said about the wardrobe - but what about hair and makeup? Let's start with hair - Jim's trendy cut and glistening highlights - WOW! I'm with you on his hair. I love him as a blond... ...even when the highlights become just a little too obvious. His natural color is the same mousy dishwater blond as mine so I know it doesn't take many highlights to make a huge difference. It doesn't look like Christie has seen the inside of a salon in months! Yes! I think Christie is a beautiful and elegant woman, but the hair could have been a bit more chic in keeping with her line of work. I remember noticing this in the previews before the show even started. There's no screencap of this, but when she has her bag packed and is ready to leave Jim in Four Feet Under, her sloppy growing-out layers hang around her in a way that makes it look like her hair is all chin-length in front and all long in back. This bugged me and I was glad, when I finally got to watch the series, that her hair didn't always look like that. It did need a bit of sprucing up, though. And I know it's completely unfair of me to use her bed head as an example of her need for a little more structure in her haircut, but you get the point. And one more thing...as stunningly beautiful as I find Ron Eldard, he really should--and I'm taking a quote from Briget Jones for the only time in my life--rethink the length of his sideburns. Although if they were just a bit pointier, they would become cool again in a Star Trek kind of way and then I would have to find them sexy. Oh, can you imagine Ron Eldard in a Starfleet uniform? *sigh*

LOL -- I have thought that if he just pointed the sideburns just a little more, and added some pointy ears, his blue eyes would make him a shoo-in to be Kirstie Alley's Vulcan half-brother in one of the early Star Trek movies... (just the eyes though..) Live long and prosper!

He may have a slight Denis Leary thing happening (although no comparison!) but too blond in Ghost Ship? I couldn't take my eyes off him--not that I was tempted to watch anything else about that movie. This blond didn't irk me one bit!

If I didn't have him to look at, I would have turned it off about five seconds in. Eye candy however, goes a long way toward holding my interest.

I love him blonde, but I think he was a bit too blonde in Ghost Ship. I agree with you about the rest of the movie. Without RE it would have been torture! As for the Denis Leary thing, I had read on another board somewhere that if you put Ron Eldard and Willem Dafoe together, you would wind up with Denis Leary. Sounds right to me, but RE is SO-O-O-O much better looking than Denis Leary!

It cracks me up that this is the second time someone has brought that up on this board. What I said was actually a little more disturbing. I said that if Ron Eldard and Willem Dafoe had a child, it would look like Denis Leary. You know what's really funny? When I first made that observation, no one made any reaction to it whatsoever so I assumed I was just being dumb. But back to fashion, I'd say that Jim Dunbar is a far cry from--say--Wade Preston. Wouldn't you? Before: After:

Wouldn't you? Before: Your original post about the Eldard/DeFoe love child looking like Dennis Leary cracked me up when I first read it. Obviously it struck a chord! Congratulations, you are being quoted! Granted it would be better if the quote was given the correct attribution, but hey... Give me Wade any day! DH is a manufacturing engineer. His "uniform" is jeans, a t-shirt, and a flannel, he still gets me every time almost 20 years later! Don't get me wrong, I love a well dressed man, but one who can pull of either, now you're talking.

And Jimmy Dunbar can pull off both too - at the end of Up on the Roof, that tight long sleeved T-shirt and those great jeans - wish we had more at home scenes -my kinda guy - denim and t's! As for RE, he could be blond or blonder, but I really like him with dark hair too, like Lester in HoSF. Really brings out those incredible eyes! Either way works! He's awesome! LongLashes
