I noticed on Rub a Tub,Jim rubbed his eyes after an interview with Mary Beth. Then,I remebered he did it in On the Roof after Titus was released from jail. Do you think his eyes hurt, maybe are just irritated or is this maybe another nervous gesture he has, like the bite lip.I can't recall any other episode it may have been on. Does anybody???

I think it's just a way of relieving stress, or a sign that's he's tired or had a long day. My version of that is that I sigh a lot, and my co-workers sometimes ask me what's wrong, and really there's nothing wrong. It's just my way of reliving stress or trying to gather my energy to get through the rest of the afternoon. Doesn't mean any more than that. And no, I don't remember any other instances of his doing that particular maneuver.

I think it's just a way of relieving stress, or a sign that's he's tired or had a long day. He rubs his eye in "Doggone," when he's at the water cooler after returning from New Jersey. This certainly supports the idea that it's a way of relieving stress, or he's tired or had a long day. Or all of the above. He also bites his lip in this scene, immediately after rubbing his eye.
