Absolutely loved the pictures - thanks so much for sharing your escapades - I hear they were many! But you know, that poor Statue of Liberty just looks plain bored - perhaps its because someone stole his flame? I mean if I had to stand on a pedestal in an outfit like that and hold a flame all day long, I might be bored too! Too bad he has absolutely no idea what goes on behind him - if he did, there is no way he would look like that! To the wacky New York woman - you sure know how to show 'em a good time - whether they be native or tourist! LOLOL!!!!!! I saw those pics and died laughing!!!!!!!

We were all sitting in Battery Park on Tuesday enjoying a little snack when there was a commotion behind us. Four policemen went into the bathroom. They were in there for about ten minutes. Finally, an old guy on a bicycle came out shouting all kinds of things at them. They escorted him out of the park. The one pictured below told us that he comes in all the time and spends hours in the bathroom. He says it's strange but he's not hurting anything. He just sits there. I guess he gets bored or something because he smokes in there too which is a big no no. So every couple of days he gets chased out because of it and he doesn't like it. Anyway, Lucy bought Carl a NY City Jail t-shirt and he wanted to get arrested by a policeman. After that escapade in the bathroom, the guy was all set for a good laugh. He looks happy at the thought of being transferred to Attica for escaping though. Hope you bring your parka, Carl.

Then of course, there was Ronald Elduck. We rescued him from a Manhattan Souvenir Shop on the last night. It was a long ride home in that plastic bag, but he didn't mind because he was happy to have a new home to look forward to. By the time he got back to the hotel he was so tired, all he did was crawl into bed and go to sleep. The next morning, he was so excited to have a new family to love him that he had to write a postcard to all his friends who were still stuck in the shop. It was so nice to be in a reasonably peaceful room without having to worry about kids laughing at him and touching him with those sticky fingers. He could hardly wait to see something else besides the inside of a bag and a souvenir shop. It was such a big world and he wanted to see it. He decided that the best way to do that was to look in some books and plan his day. He had his day all planned when he received some very disappointing news. To be continued.....

Life's not fair. He'd just been rescued only to find out that these people were leaving NY today. Bummer. But, Ronald Elduck was not one to stay down in the dumps for long. He decided that he would just think of it as an adventure. He didn't even want to know where he was going. Just let it be a surprise. These people are obsessed with the bathroom though. They keep asking if he has to go. What's up with that? The next question is always, "Did you wash your hands?" Yes yes yes. Let's just get on with it. Those people at the hotel were really nice. Even though he was only there one night, Ronald Elduck could see that they loved their job and did it very well. Too bad he didn't have time to get to know them better. They looked like they were so much fun. When he got outside, he almost flew away! "They don't expect me to stay in there do they?" There's no room. He'd never been alone before and it would be so hot and dark with that big lid down. Thankfully, he was aloud to stay in the back seat. Only one problem: He'd never been in a car before so he got sick. He stopped for supper with his new family and found some other animals that were trapped in some sort of glass cage. He decided to tell them not to worry. Someday they would be rescued too by a very nice person just like he had been. At least he hoped they would. Well, time to go order supper......

Ronald Elduck - what a quack! But I have to give you karma, Anita, for being imaginative to share his day - with pictures too! And you know, the more you see him, the more he kind of grows on you. He's definitely not just another cute "blond" dude!

It was so much fun posing him.

But what I really want to know is what the heck did you do to or give to the hotel staff to get them all to react like that? Happiest bunch of front desk staff I have seen in a looooooooooog time!

The thought of posing with a stuffed duck did that.
They really were happy and pleasant though
