Hi! Not that exciting...but I wanted a chance to show off my new avatar (thanks Shmeep!). This past weekend we went to Pittsburgh to watch the Cincinnati Reds play the Pirates in a couple of games. Pittsburgh is a great city. This was our first trip. We had dinner at a beautifully renovated train station with lots of stained glass, rode the incline (very cool) and toured the city.
I added another snow globe to my collection. That's always a good day!
Does anybody else collect snow globes?

I've never been to Pittsburgh, but just the word "Pittsburgh" reminds me of a quote from one of my all-time favorite movies.
Patrick: Is the English Lady Sick? Auntie Mame: Oh, she's not English. She's from Pittsburgh. Patrick: She sounded English. Auntie Mame: When you're from Pittsburgh, you've got to do something.

Although I am terrified of the traffic in Pittsburgh, there is a lot of neat stuff there. Also I love the Pittsburghese, I live about 50 miles from there and its very close to how I sound. The cultural district is really neat, I went to see two operas and a ballet last year at the Benedum Center. It's a really neat old theater, totally resored, the backstage tour is really neat too. And a food memory: When I was a little kid I once ate at Dingbats with my parents in Robinson (which is like a suburb of Pittsburgh- lots of places to shop there) and I still have the little wind up duck toy that came in my keep the kid entertained with crayons packet that most resturants give to little kids. I road the incline once when I was aboiut 5 and I was terrified. I'd like to try it again, now that I'm a little older. I want to visit the strip district sometime too. Thats where theres lots of neat shops, fresh produce, ethnic foods, and some really neat looking places to eat.
